The Chamber’s largest annual event, the 2020 Chamber Celebration, presented by Owensboro Health, gathers Members of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce for an evening of celebration. The event continues to grow as Members see the value and excitement in kicking off the year with the Chamber. The 2020 Celebration will take place on Friday, January 24 at the RiverPark Center. The reception including heavy hors d’oeuvres begins at 6:00 p.m. The ceremony and Awards Presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission to an exclusive celebration featuring live music from The Juice Box Heroes and crafted cocktails will be provided following the program. MICHAEL VANOVER
A graduate from Western Kentucky University (’90), Michael Vanover has been an insurance agent in Commercial and Personal Lines, Health and Life, Workers’ Compensation, and Long-Term Care with The Helton Insurance Agency since moving here in 2010. In addition to serving as an Ambassador for the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, Michael is the president of Owensboro Sister Cities & Regions, Inc., and serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Crossroads, Inc., and its ministries, including the only walk-in emergency overnight shelter for homeless women (with or without children) in Owensboro/ Daviess County. Michael is also a Gideon for the Owensboro East Camp, where he served as Vice-President last year, and he and his wife, Gayla, serve on the Impressions Ministry and Emergency Response Team at Owensboro Christian Church. They also participate in/support Christian mission work in the nation of Portugal. Michael is a life-long member of the WKU Alumni Association, and a member of the Presidents Circle and Cupola Society. He also serves on the Alumni Advisory Board, and Housing Corporation, for Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
