CHAMBER MATTERS 2020 APR.
The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce is committed to our mission to provide leadership, advocacy and Member services to foster economic prosperity to our region. We realize that the recent events regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic have created unprecedented circumstances for our Members and the community. We are actively working to connect our Members with the resources they need. We recognize that our small businesses are facing deep challenges. U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loans are now available to small businesses in Kentucky. Applications are available online at disasterloan.sba. gov/ela/. We have also created a COVID-19 Resources page that can be found at chamber.owensboro.com/ covid19. Resources are updated as they become available. We are participating daily in discussions with the U.S. Small Business Administration, United States Chamber and Kentucky Chamber, Governor Beshear’s Office, our Federal and State Legislative Delegation, and with key stakeholders to monitor potential economic disruptions and to seek continued assistance for our local businesses and employers. While all Chamber events and in-person programs are currently on hold, the staff are diligently working to communicate with and promote Members during this time. We are continuing to remind the Owensboro community that supporting local is now more important than ever. Our community is known for its resilience and ability to come together to overcome adversity. We are seeing incredible examples of innovation, creativity and compassion across all sectors. Please know we are here to help in any way we can. We encourage you to reach out via email at chamber@ owensboro.com or by phone at 270-926-1860 with any questions or concerns. While there are many unknowns, we know one thing for sure - we are truly all in this together and we will get through it. Thank you for believing that together we make Greater Owensboro even greater.
ENGAGE OWENSBORO A WAY TO GET INVOLVED NOW With the ongoing developments of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have found ourselves in unprecedented circumstances wondering now more than ever what we can do to help our community. There are numerous ways to assist local non-profits and organizations during these especially trying times. We encourage community members to visit chamber.owensboro.com/engageowensboro/ to access Engage Owensboro, an interactive database designed to more fully engage citizens in Greater Owensboro. Members of the community can choose to create an account and indicate interest in community organizations and opportunities. Engage Organizations will be notified directly when a community member expresses interest in their organization and can future facilitate communication to inform you of ways to help now. The Engage Owensboro database design was made possible by a generous donation from the Marilyn and William Young Charitable Foundation.
