Leadership Owensboro tradition continues
Ambassador of the Month
This month, 30 individuals will join the growing alumni base of Leadership Owensboro. Since the early 1980s, Leadership Owensboro has been a driving force in growing and cultivating leaders in the Greater Owensboro region. Leadership Owensboro, a program of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, is focused on educating and engaging individuals to reach their potential and maximize their impact in the community. Year after year, a group of professionals devote their time to dive in and learn more about our community from various angles. The continued support of employers, businesses and organizations that understand the value of the program make that possible. We invite you to join us at the Leadership Owensboro Graduation and Alumni Reception, presented by WKU Owensboro, on Thursday, May 10 from 5–7 p.m. at the Commerce Center. Congratulations to LO Class of 2018!

V
isit Owensboro is your local Owensboro-Daviess County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Our mission is to strengthen the positive awareness of Owensboro and Daviess County as a leisure, convention, business and sports destination. To increase hotel revenues and stimulate economic development and growth in the community. The more money people spend on tourism in Daviess County, the less tax burden our residents
have to carry. At Visit Owensboro, we’ve gone digital, launching a new website, visitowensboro. com. We’ve opened our event calendar to local nonprofits to
schedule their fundraisers so that we see a decrease in double booking. You’ve probably already noticed our digital presence with social media with our Facebook,
270-683-8672 (Vora) Kishor Vora MD, FACC, FSCAI
Twitter and Instagram accounts. We believe the best way to tell Owensboro’s story is through the digital world. We’re investing in local projects like Kentucky Wesleyan College’s athletic facilities to open the door for more sports tourism opportunities. We are working hand and hand with the convention center to draw large conventions that produce hotel nights. Visit Owensboro is partnering with entertainment venues to bring in
big-name acts that Owensboro has never seen and looking for new ways to provide fun things to do in Owensboro. Our tourism office is providing support to O.Z Tyler Distillery, who will join the Kentucky Bourbon Trail this summer. We believe that will be a game changer for tourism in Owensboro. Visit Owensboro is the front door for many people new to our incredible city. We want people to know we are open for business.
