Our Investors Luncheon gives the Chamber Board Chair and staff a chance to meet with Chamber businesses to receive feedback, ideas and concerns from our members. We want to know what our members biggest obstacles are, if there are areas of advocacy we can help with and what we can do to continue to build a strong business environment and community. We also discuss our Chamber’s mission, how we accomplish it and why that is important to each business. As a member-based organization, we take our direction and craft our plan of work from your feedback!

Happy Labor Day! A heartfelt thanks to all of the working people who make Greater Owensboro the community we call home!
A group of Chamber Young Professionals recently received final approval for a mural project in our downtown. The mural was designed by CYP member and Daviess County High School Art Teacher Austin Casebolt. Austin and a group of CYP volunteers hope to have the mural completed in the next few weeks. They have already spent nights and weekends preparing. The drivers of this CYP project are mostly in their 20s and the majority moved to Owensboro as adults. This group met with Judge -- Executive Al Mattingly for assistance which the Fiscal Court willingly provided. They also presented the project to the Convention and Visitors Bureau Board, which gave approval for the space on the side of their building. Both the Fiscal Court and the CVB Board were open and encouraging. This project, though it may seem small in scope, is a big deal. It is a perfect example of why people are moving to Owensboro, why we were rated in the top U.S. cities for millennials. We are a small city that offers quality of life. Jessica Kirk, who is helping head a community development committee for the Chamber’s Young Professionals brand, credited the idea behind a mural to excitement among the city’s young adults who want to help turn downtown Owensboro into a place as active and thriving as larger downtown metros in the region. "We want it to be a place for people to come, gather and take photos," she said. "We want visitors and residents alike to take part, and spread it across social media. It's going to have a perfect spot right under the blue bridge on the Visit Owensboro building."
