Brescia University sponsors Sept. Rooster Booster As the longest-standing provider of higher education in Daviess County, Brescia University is firmly rooted in its studentcentered mission to provide transforming educational opportunities to those who might otherwise have none. At the same time, the four year, Catholic, liberal arts institution is standing at the brink of a bright future. Since 1925 when it first formed as the Mount Saint Joseph College for Women, to 1948 when it became member of the flourishing downtown in order to meet the needs of Veterans returning from WWII, to present day as it serves as the “Gateway to Downtown,” Brescia University has been a part of the fabric of the Greater Owensboro Community. There could not be a more exciting time on campus as the “Campaign for Brescia University: Gateway to Our Second Century” moves forward. Significant
renovations to The Moore Center are underway, and the construction of a new Signature Building to be located on the corner of 9th and Frederica Streets is slated to begin in 2018. The projects will serve to address enrollment growth, meet the needs of modern day learners, and will give a new face to the University as well as a new landmark entrance to downtown Owensboro. •••
“#TheBresciaDifference to me is being able to show others what good there can be. It is having a community that helps make and keep you and others strong. #TheBresciaDifference doesn’t stop at Brescia; it carries over to everyone who has been touched by a Brescia faculty, staff, or alum or student.” - Abigail Rose
