YP Unite Summit November 14-15
Red, White & Blue, Presented by Big Rivers Electric Corporation, took place last Tuesday on the Daviess County Courthouse Lawn. Hundreds gathered to hear from candidates running for state offices. Each candidate was allowed time to introduce themselves to the community and discuss their platform. Special thanks to the Fraternal Order of Police for providing free food for attendees!

This Chamber program was designed to elevate the well-known “Small Business Saturday” and create an all-day shopping event centered around the city’s local retail businesses. Join us for the Shop Owensboro kick-off on Saturday, November 30 at the Independence Square location at 2425 Frederica Street or at the Independence Bank 54 location at 9:00 a.m. FREE Official Shop Owensboro bags will be available to the first 500 shoppers.
The Teachers in the Workplace program kicked off the 2019-2020 school year hosting the first session on October 22. The agenda included an introduction to the program and overview of the Chamber followed by tours of Owensboro Community and Technical College and specific program opportunities they offer for students. The educators enjoyed visiting both OCTC’s downtown and main campuses. They got to experience the WorkReady Innovations Lab, Vert Tech Teaching Hospital, Advance Technology Center and Surgical Technology Lab. Greater Owensboro Chamber Young Professionals (CYP) are hosting the regional YP Unite Summit, presented by Owensboro Health, on November 14-15. The YP Unite Summit is a leadership conference focused on developing young professionals and young professional organizations. The Summit will kick off on November 14 with a special toast hosted by the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art to celebrate CYP’s growing contribution to the community, continuing with an official Welcome Reception at O.Z. Tyler Distillery. Over the course of the following day, young professionals will benefit from inspiring speakers and thought-proving breakout sessions, along with the opportunity to connect with YP’s across the Commonwealth and surrounding region. The event will take place at Owensboro’s Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in the heart of downtown. Tickets are available for individual days or the full event.
