Tanner to speak at last Rooster Booster breakfast of 2015 The December Rooster Booster will close 2015 with a spotlight on our community’s young entrepreneurs and upcoming leaders. The Greater Owensboro community is seeing a resurgence of young professionals moving to and moving back to Owensboro. The Chamber Young Professionals are preparing to kick off 2016 with highest membership in a decade. Jason Tanner, the owner and publisher of Owensboro Living Magazine and Owensboro Parent Magazines will share his story as a young entrepreneur who determined he would grow his business in his hometown. He will also spotlight stories of others who have done the same. Come celebrate Junior Achievement and the achievement of our young
generation of leaders shaping our economy and building a Greater Owensboro.

Junior Achievement of West Kentucky to sponsor December Rooster Booster Breakfast Junior Achievement of West Kentucky is proud to serve as the December sponsor for the Rooster Booster breakfast. Here at JA, we give young people the knowledge and skills they need to be college and career ready, plan for their future and make smart academic and economic choices. Our corporate and community volunteers deliver relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school the knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship. JA programs empower students to
make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school. Fifteen years of independent research

confirms our positive impact on students’ knowledge, skill development and attitudes. In fact, when asked if being a JA student positively affected their future, 92 percent of JA Alumni responded with a resounding “Yes.” JA students graduate high school and
go on to college at dramatically higher rates than their peers, and JA Alumni are twice as likely to own their own business one day. Many chamber members partner with us each year to empower over 9,900 local young people (and over 21,000 across West Kentucky) to own their economic success, increase the vitality of our communities, and contribute to the availability of a welleducated workforce. YOUR continued support will allow us to reach a new generation of students with life-changing financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs.
