OCTC to sponsor December Rooster Booster O

wensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) was founded to help the citizens in our region attain a better life. After serving over 70,000 individuals in our area, that still remains at our core. We pledge to keep working to increase our college going rate, and continue to work with our 4-year partners to increase the baccalaureate degree attainment in the region. We want to continue to team up with our workforce partners and adapt our programs to fit their changing needs. We are grateful that our legislators are focused on workforce readiness, and want everyone that qualifies to be able to take advantage of the Work Ready Scholarship program, the most affordable way to earn a college credential, and ensure a family sustaining wage.

OCTC will unveil the new Industry Innovation Center (IIC) on February 1, 2018. Sincere thanks to our civic leaders, the GO Chamber, the GO EDC, business leaders, and the citizens of our region, for raising the matching funds needed to secure the bonding power through the state. You are invited to the opening of this new state-of-the art facility which allows us to expand programming in our welding, HVAC, robotics, and electrical career fields. Community is our middle name and we want to ensure that our students succeed so our community continues to thrive. We can do this together through open communication, engagement, and singularity of purpose. Stop by and see our new IIC on Thursday, February 1, it is the facility you helped build. We would be proud to give you a tour.
