Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County celebrates their 30th Anniversar y this year, as well as their 135th house! Call (270) 926-6110 to volunteer.

Sintros to speak at March 29 Rooster Booster The April Rooster Booster has been moved up due to its inter ference with Spring Break. The next Rooster Booster will be this Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 am at the Owensboro Convention Center. The breakfast will be sponsored by UniFirst Corporation and will feature guest speaker, Steven Sintros, President and CEO of UniFirst Corporation.

Steve first joined UniFirst in 2004 ser ving as the company’s Finance Manager and Corporate Controller. He was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Of ficer in 2009, before being appointed to his current position in 2017 following the unexpected passing of longtime chairman, president, and CEO Ron Croatti.

Although Ron left some big shoes to fill, Steve has embraced the role with similar passion and a vision for continued annual growth and success, along with staying true to the company’s core values. Today, Steve is positioning UniFirst to achieve future successes in the years to come, and the UniFirst family is proud to have him leading the way.

UniFirst celebrates 20 years of success in Owensboro A

lot can happen in 20 years. Just ask Dave Roberts, general manager of distribution for UniFirst Corporation, a North American leader in providing work uniform programs, corporate attire, and facility ser vice products to more than 300,000 business customers in virtually ever y industr y. Roberts was still in high school in 1998 when UniFirst first opened its then state-of-the-art distribution center in Owensboro to fulfill the growing demand for its uniforms, workwear and facility ser vice products. Today, Roberts oversees operations at the 360,000square-foot Owensboro distribution center (DC), which has experienced tremendous growth and business success over the past 20 years, and is currently one of the area’s largest employers with 445 employee Team Partners. “Our 20th anniversar y marks an important milestone for UniFirst as we reflect on past accomplishments

and look for ward to the company’s continued growth and accomplishments,” said Roberts, who joined UniFirst in 2007 as a plant engineer before his promotion to general manager. “Our extraordinar y growth and long-term business relationships that we have established with our valued customers are certainly cause for celebration.” Since 1998, the Owensboro DC has added 60,000 square feet of space and nearly doubled its staff during this time, with 90 percent of its leadership team promoted from within. UniFirst has also made significant investments in technology through the implementation of advanced automation and latest-generation robotics to seamlessly fulfill customer orders and provide the highest level of quality and ser vice in the industr y. Currently, the facility ships 18 million garments annually, an increase of more than 240 percent since its opening. UniFirst has also been

successful in creating deep roots in the Owensboro and Daviess County area through its support of numerous community organizations, including the schools, civic and other philanthropic nonprofits that ser ve the area. “UniFirst would like to extend a warm thank you to all of our customers, Team Partners and community organizations who have contributed to our success,” Roberts said. “We’re committed to continuously improving in order to best ser vice the needs of our existing and future customers.”
