KWC receives state, national awards and recognition Everyone is familiar with the rich history of Kentucky Wesleyan College, which has called Owensboro its home since 1951. What you might not be familiar with is the cutting edge of innovative higher education currently taking place at Wesleyan. Just last month, Washington Monthly ranked Wesleyan as the No. 1 ranked bachelor’s degree institution in Kentucky, while U.S. News and World Report ranked the College 13th on its list of Best Regional Colleges in the South. Since the arrival of President Bart Darrell two years ago, Wesleyan has seen higher retention rates, larger freshman classes, and record-setting fundraising totals. Our guiding principal at Kentucky Wesleyan College is The Wesleyan Way, which is the driving force for everything we do: We succeed with honor; we support one another; we compete with integrity; and we love one another.

We also love our community. Last year alone, Wesleyan students completed 20,316 hours of ser vice throughout Owensboro and

Daviess County. Wesleyan’s second annual Day of Ser vice will take place Nov. 28, where students, faculty, staff, and alumni will spend the day ser ving our beautiful community. As Wesleyan continues to immerse itself throughout the community, our alumni and friends have responded by investing in the college like never before. Wesleyan has seen nearly $10 million in charitable giving over the last two years, including a 32 percent increase in those giving $1,000 or more to the institution through the President’s Circle, the school’s most prestigious annual giving society. Wesleyan graduates are civic and professional leaders who, along with the citizens of Owensboro and Daviess County, shape the landscape to sustain, and build upon, the high quality of life our community continues to enjoy.
