The film series “Youth Culture” in August talks about the youth in Germany and their living environment. What is affecting them today and which role they play in their everyday lifes? The stories of the protagonist delivers insight into the youth culture in Germany. 06.08.2015, 7pm Oh Boy, Director: Jan Ole Gerster, colour, 82 min., 2010/12 Niko Fischer is living from day to day. He has dropped out of law school. He drifts through Berlin. OH BOY describes the turbulent 24 hours in the life of a young man in episodes, at the end of which nothing will be as before. 13.08.2015, 7pm Finsterworld , Director: Frauke Finsterwalder, Farbe, 95 Min., 2012/13 FINSTERWORLD is set in a Germany that has seemingly been plucked out of time. A land where the sun always shines, children wear school uniforms, policemen dress up as bears and pedicurists make biscuits for old ladies 20.08.2015, 7pm Kroko, Director: Sylke Enders, colour, 92 min., 2003 A „cool“ girl living in Wedding, Berlin suddenly has an unpleasant experience: she has to help out in a home for disabled people. Unapproachable at first, she gradually learns to understand her role better and perhaps also to make more of her own life. 27.08.2015, 7pm Broken Glass Park, Director: Bettina Blümner, colour, 91 min., 2011/12 Sascha is a clever girl and she certainly has the gift of the gab. As a child, she witnessed her stepfather Vadim kill her mother.
