@ROYALSRICHLAND

WELCOME RICHLAND FANS

TO THE 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON>>> I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some football! For almost 60 years, Richland High Football has been something to look forward to on Friday night. I am still amazed at the crowds that come see us play. Every part of your experience tonight is the result of many hours of planning and hard work. The band, the choir, the drill team, the color guard, the JROTC, the spirit groups, the cheerleaders, and the football teams have worked tirelessly to prepare as do their coaches and directors. This wonderful event could not be possible without the fantastic families who volunteer their time to help out in more ways than we could know. Whether it is here, at home, or when you travel with us on the road, your support is recognized and we cannot thank you enough. We want all who experience a Royals football game to have fun, be safe, respect our opponent, show good sportsmanship and above all leave knowing our students performed to their best ability and that we are proud of them.

>>A MESSAGE FROM THE RICHLAND

TOUCHDOWN CLUB Dear Richland Parents,

The Richland Touchdown Club welcomes you to the 2020 football season. We invite you to join us in creating a memorable experience as we watch our teams strive to have the best season yet. In addition to coordinating pictures, selling ads and working with consultants to print our annual program, the Touchdown Club runs our on-campus concessions, sells spirit wear, plans and delivers game day meals, coordinates events such as our annual homecoming parade, senior night and the annual football award banquet. Everything we do is aimed at making our season the best it can be. Since football is an extracurricular activity, the funds we raise also allow Coach Ged Kates to purchase items not covered within the annual BISD district budget. With that being said, one of the best ways you can help Richland Football is simply become a member of our Touchdown Club. Your membership will help fund items needed for Coach Kates and our boys to have a successful season. If every player was supported by their family member joining, it would allow our kids to play to the best of their potential and get us one step closer in achieving our goals. Thank you in advance for supporting Richland Football.

GO RICHLAND! Sincerely,

HEAD COACH >>A MESSAGE FROM THE FOOTBALL

WELCOME TO ROYALS FOOTBALL! I am so thankful we are here. I have always loved football, but to appreciate it in a new way has been great for our players and coaches.

Young people are challenged as never before to continue to meet the high expectations from their coaches and sponsors on the field and in the classroom. All of the young people you will see on the field tonight are leaders. They have shown the courage to put themselves out there to work as a part of something larger than themselves, and have exhibited the work ethic and fortitude to perform to the best of their abilities, knowing full well that victory on the scoreboard is not a guarantee. Young people who have shown that they can successfully solve problems, deal with stress, and survive in a very competitive society, are the most valuable products of our modern day school system. The school year will fly by. We will cherish every minute we have to improve our student-athletes, and we will continue to cultivate these relationships so they continue well after graduation. As this school year begins to move forward, please take every opportunity to show your support for our student-athletes and the other activity groups in Richland High School. Never underestimate the positive effect an encouraging word or pat on the back will have on the direction that a young person’s life might take!
