Simplify your

MEAL PREP

FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

1

THINK FREEZER FRIENDLY Who doesn’t love a good frozen pizza or easy frozen meal? You know what’s better? A frozen meal that you cooked yourself and is full of nutritious ingredients. Meals with liquid, such as stews, soups, sauces, and purees, are great for freezing and reheating later. The next time you plan to make one of these meals, triple the recipe and put the extras into meal sized containers in the fridge. Your future self will thank you.

2

CHOP VEGGIES ON THE WEEKEND Often the most time consuming part of any healthy recipe is chopping all of the vegetables. Schedule time on the weekend to chop everything you will need for dinner that week, and make it a fun experience! Put on some music and make a drink. Or, make it into a fun activity with your kids. While they might not be ready to do the chopping, you can make a game out of it by having them help you sort different vegetables in each container by color.

3

WRITE YOUR LIST OF QUICK DINNERS We can’t always plan ahead, and even when we do sometimes we miss a day or need a backup plan. Identify 3 dinners that you know you are able to get on the table in less than 30 minutes, and that is made with ingredients you commonly have in your pantry and/or fridge. Having this list in your back pocket can make those nights you are strapped for time without a dinner plan so much smoother and less overwhelming.
