Designer John Frank
John Frank Alza with GoGirl Jennifer Murphy
GoGirl CEO/Founder Jennifer Murphy caught up with fashion designer and friend, John Frank Alza, as he fitted her for a one-of-a-kind, custom-made suit. Find out this fashion-forward fella’s unique technique when deciding the best colors for his most discerning clients. Here is a little of how that meeting went.
GoGirl Jen: John, what makes you passionate about what you do?
John Frank: Well, I've always wanted people to look great with whatever they're wearing, so they can feel great in their social environment, profession, and special moments in their life. I want them to always look elegant, polished, and sophisticated… that they feel unique, exclusive, and comfortable and versatile all at the same time. And, this is the reason that inspires me to make designs for them. Seeing their needs inspires us to choose the fabrics and the colors…the design that best suits their complexion, while also depending on the time and occasion they need to dress for. Creating custom pieces comes out fabulous when made between designer and client. Every design comes out unique and exclusive, and people deserve and want to feel just that. Not only do we sell and design clothing, we advise our clients. But, we also consider the tastes and suggestions of our customers.
GoGirl Jen: Now I understand why, although I pointed to a very light blue as the color I wanted for my suit, you strongly suggested this darker blue with a slight purple hue. You must know it will better complement my hair and complexion. Thank you, John! I’m so happy you’re a pro and I know I’m in good hands. Do your thing!
John Frank: Thank you, Jennifer. I always appreciate it when my clients trust my judgement.
We design for moments…for the day-to-day, at work, at home, on the street, and on those special occasions, such as trips, cocktail parties, graduations, or weddings. Those special occasions that stay in everyone's memory.
I really like that people are happy, satisfied, and grateful with the wardrobe and advice we give them. It's of great satisfaction to me and my team. We are also very grateful people make the decision to entrust us with the task of advising them and dressing them for both day-to-day life and for those special occasions that remain indelible in our memories.
GoGirl Jen: As I mentioned before, I love your passion and it’s wonderful that you have a team of talented and passionate people as well.
John Frank: In my workshop, I have very good people…talented professionals who
always do things well and with love. I am supported by fashion-savvy pros who measure to make any garment or design at a sporty or casual level. We are supported by exceptional tailors who’ve worked all their lives making the highest quality garments by hand, with perfectionism for that formal and celebratory costume that we wear every day.
GoGirl Jen: You and your team truly do an amazing job. And, I love the gorgeous suits you make for not only men, but women as well. Your beautiful daughter Paula, who've I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting, is a shining example of an empowered woman wearing a suit (made by you, of course), looking very classy and professional, while also maintaining a sexy undertone. A suit with a pop of lace is fun, yet not too much! It’s definitely a combo that I personally enjoy rocking. I can’t wait for my suit to be done so I can play around with a few variations of the blouse and accessories.
John Frank: I can’t wait to see your photoshoot, Jennifer, wearing the finished design. And, thank you for your kind words.
