The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa hosted four days of culinary delight, with the launch of their inaugural ‘Culinary Stars Showcase’ at signature dining restaurant Citrique from 7th - 10th November. Led by the JW Marriott’s award-winning Executive Chef, Paul Smart; Smart invited four local chefs from across South East Queensland - Dayan Hartill-Law (Executive Chef, HOTA Gallery), Richard Le Deunff (Chef Pâtissier, Aux Fines Bouches), Meyjitte Boughenout (Executive Chef, Glass Restaurant) and Gavin Hughes (Senior Culinary Expert, Miele) to collaborate in a unique culinary exploration that celebrated the best of Queensland’s local produce.

The series saw four degustation dinners take place; ‘Ocean to Plate’ with paired cocktails, ‘Hinterland to Plate’ with paired wine and cider, ‘Farm to Plate’ with a wine pairing from Witches Falls and ‘Creativity to Plate’ paired with JW Wine showcasing the JW Marriott’s rising star culinary team over a five-course locally produced sourced degustation along with a Traditional High Tea using local ingredients sourced from the Gold Coast hinterland and a JW Culinary Class in which chefs Paul Smart and Gavin Hughes lent their master culinary skills first hand to teach guests how to make Citrique’s Signature Moreton Bay bug dumplings and Thai spiced duck betel leaves. Citrique Restaurant hosts a culinary journey with a la carte dining Monday through Thursday and weekend Seafood Buffet.
