Items to update We are already half way through Term 1—what a delight now that Summer has finally arrived. The flowers are blooming and the gardens are looking lovely. Thank you to Mrs Wellington, our closest neighbour for her devotion to our gardens—she is responsible for the massive sunflowers and beautiful blooms in the classroom vases. Outing  Thursday 29th March children 4½ and older are invited to Rotorua to Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park.

This is a full day and lengthy bus ride so is only suitable for older children. Permission slips are attached.

Thank you to the parents who assisted with supervision at the Zoo.

Zoo outing.

Primary Update Thank you to those parents who completed a Submission form to Waikato District Council.  NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is responsible for Airport Rd and SH1—the two intersections at each end of Newell Rd. NZTA lodged a submission with concerns about these two intersections. We are now gathering more data on traffic volumes and flows and are working with NZTA to mitigate their concerns. When this data is analysed Waikato District Council will set the Hearing Date. It seems to have been a very long time coming but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel now. We expect the Hearing to be resolved by end of April.  Ryan Katz (Lead Primary Teacher) is finalising his relocation plans from USA and will arrive in Hamilton in April— with his wife Ludmila (also a Montessori teacher). We are working on locating a temporary building here for Ryan to prepare the materials in and have a space to use until the Primary classroom is ready.  During the Term 1 holiday break we are planning for the initial building activity to commence.  There may also be a working bee for the construction of the shelves— keep a look out for a request from Corinne Schuitemaker. We really appreciate your support with this.
