and board members traveled the Golden Belt area to learn more about community needs and wishes. The information learned from these community meetings will guide the foundation Board of Directors in aligning funding with current needs, connecting donors with important causes, and working to sustain rural communities.

isiting 10 communities across the Golden Belt, we asked four specific questions. 1. What do you love about your community and county? 2. What would you like to accomplish within your community and county? 3. What would it take to get there? 4. How can GBCF help? Many of the answers given were repeated across all ten communities, telling us that, at our core, our basic needs and desires are the same. Citizens desired economic growth to sustain their schools and population, access to healthcare, collaboration with other communities, etc. One thing that was clear was that people love their communities and the people in it. Foundation staff are still combing through the notes taken and will deliver to the public soon. Watch our Facebook page and website for more to come.
power of
endowment W
hat if your gift could support your community or favorite charitable organization, not just today, but forever? This is possible through the power of endowment. Endowments are simply permanent funds in which the principal is preserved and invested, while a portion of the earnings is distributed annually for one or more charitable purposes.
Below are just a few reasons why donors support endowment giving:
Because endowments provide funding in perpetuity through continued growth, they are available to not only continue to support charitable organizations, but also to provide funding to respond to ever-changing community needs. At some point, grant distributions will exceed the original gift, proving the importance of this perpetual concept.
The Golden Belt Community Foundation is grateful to those who have the vision to create a lasting benefit to their community. The foundation is available to discuss endowment and other fund options to help you achieve your charitable giving goals. If you are interested in supporting a favorite organization or charitable cause, please contact the foundation at (620) 792-3000 or christy@goldenbeltcf.org.
