SIGN OF THE TIMES
Macine Geeslin's grandkids did everything they could to let her know they loved her while she was in the hospital for surgery. New restrictions keep family members from visiting their loved ones in person in many hospitals. These photos were taken outside Macine's window and, by her, from inside her room. Sharpen your pencils! In this time of school closings and working from home, our community's children are probably spending a little more time in front of a screen than usual. While this is certainly to be expected and our new "normal," for now, we're betting some parents are also looking for ways to occupy the kids without a screen. The Eagle is here to help.
On pages 6B and 7B of this week's edition are two pages full of activities for children - activities that do not involve a computer, tablet or phone screen. Even better, kids who complete a page can then send or have mom or dad send it in to The Eagle via email at goldnews@ centex.net, and be entered into a drawing to win a $10 Mills County General Store gift card.
"If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." — 2 Chron. 7:14
Get close to nature while social distancing Locals shared this photo recently, saying Stephen and Kyle Schwartz flew over Mills County and made this cross in the sky on Wednesday, March 25. (Photo courtesy of Kay Jacob Mills)
The Gardens are open every week day for your pleasure. Take a break and enjoy lunch amidst the blooms and buzz. Savannah is working hard to make sure our garden gem is polished and shining. We just ask you keep the social distance rules while you enjoy this beautiful space.
