Chervo Fashion Apparel

A

n apparel brand that has been under the radar in the U.S. is making a big splash this spring. With its new Mediterraneo 22 collection, Chervò—a 40-year-old Italian manufacturer of fine sportswear—is not only making its mark with professional tour players but is becoming well known with the golfing public at large. With its continental flair and styling, Chervò’s newest fashions were inspired by the imagery and wonderment of each season. Inspired by the sights of the Mediterranean, the exclusive collection features limited items for both men and women using cool tones of blue and grey, paired with the brightness of pinks and purples, to tell a unique story. The men’s collection for Mediterraneo 22 features a European sporty, but full cut that is made of polyester and elastic fabrics that offer a breathable, soft feel that goes with either swinging a golf club or enjoying a meal at the club. Patterned pants and shorts, pale blue mixed with white, lighted quilted vests and fresh new polo shirts highlight this collection—and make it easy to update a resort wardrobe. For the women’s collection, soft, comfortable fabrics along with vibrant colors highlight the selections. Knee-length bottoms, contrast collared tops, sleeveless fitted dress and functional second layer outerwear are accented with matching belts, visors and hats. The Jlenia Blue Ink Floral and the Jlenia-Zen Mint Floral skirts are standouts. Chervò is represented around the world of professional golf by players like Kurt Kitayama on the PGA Tour, Jenny Shin on the LGPA Tour and Johannes Veerman on the DP World Tour. Chervò garments also offer protection from UV rays while providing a cooling effect and ultimate moisture management—with fabrics that are environmentally friendly.

The company notes that one of the biggest challenges in fashion today is to find the right balance between environmental sustainability and style. Since 1982 Chervò has been working towards being the perfect combination of both. Through the development of their innovative, sustainable materials, Chervò’s high-tech fabrics paired with refined details and casual elegance make for unmistakable style. “Chervò®-TEX epitomizes our philosophy of creativity and innovative manufacturing: this seal represents high-performance garments with sophisticated designs, made from premium raw material,” noted Creative Director and Co-Founder Peter Erlacher. Chervò has several patented technologies found only in their exclusive collections that incorporate sustainability into luxury. Happy Goose is 100% synthetic and ecological down (down-free) padded with a silky touch and light-weight synthetic flakes, providing features comparable to down filling, which is ecological and crueltyfree. Bio-based Dry Matic® and Bio-based Sunblock® are ecofriendly light-weight fabrics, made with a fiber of vegetable origin that is exceptionally durable and helps improve thermoregulation, protect against UV-Rays and provide odor control. Chervò also has exclusive certified sealed Eco-Safe garments. Clothing items with this seal guarantee that production is made from fibers subject to surpassing a rigorous impact assessment (LCA - lifecycle impact assessment). This assessment determines the scale of the impact on the environment and the extent of consumption of resources resulting from their production, to ensure maximum respect for the environment. These are just a few of the many innovative technologies and fabrics Chervò has cultivated over the years and the brand plans to continue developing garments with high-performance functions, details and sustainable values as their main focus for the future. Founded in Italy in 1982 by brothers Manfred and Peter Erlacher, Chervò designs, manufactures and markets luxury Italian golf and sportswear worldwide. With its global headquarters located east of Milan in Costermano (Verona), Italy, and its U.S. headquarters in North Palm Beach, Florida, Chervò products are available in more than 30 countries worldwide. Initially, the company was established as a ski brand. In the early 1990’s, Chervò made its debut in the golf industry by combining all-Italian style with highly technical fabrics. Chervò’s philosophy is dedicated to ushering in its Italian roots led by its chic and tech vision, with emphasis on top-quality, eco-friendly and long-lasting apparel that has been guiding the brand for 40 years. TecTecTec KLYR Rangefinder

O

ne of the more successful upstarts in the crowded field of golf distance measuring devices, TecTecTec has introduced its latest innovation called KLYR (pronounced clear) --a pocketsized device that is light, 30% smaller than the average rangefinder and loaded with nice features that could make it a top seller. Besides the compact carrying case, KLYR comes with a belt clip and ball marker that attach to the magnet on the side of the rangefinder—and actually gives you four ways of carrying the device on the course—in the carry bag, attached to the metal bar on your golf cart or the belt clip via the magnet—or simply put it in your pocket. A very nice feature.
