MELISSA MANCHESTER SALUTES The Fellas IN SONG By Gregg Shapiro Few people have had the kind of career that Melissa Manchester has. From her early days singing at the Continental Baths in New York as one third of Bette Midler’s back-up vocal trio The Harlettes to a successful career as a singer/ songwriter with hits ranging from “Midnight Blue” and “Don’t Cry Out Loud” to “Through the Eyes of Love” and “You Should Hear How She Talks About You” to acting on film, TV and on stage, Manchester is a powerhouse. Her latest project is The Fellas (Long Run), a fabulous and heartfelt tribute to celebrated crooners including Mel Torme, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT WHAT WOULD SEEM TO BE THE DAUNTING PROCESS OF SELECTING SONGS BY NAT KING COLE, DEAN MARTIN, TONY BENNETT, FRANK SINATRA, MEL TORME AND OTHERS TO RECORD FOR YOUR NEW ALBUM THE FELLAS? It was a bit daunting, because those guys lived in an age where their golden voices were catered to by songwriters of equal brilliance. I wanted to choose a song that would best capture the essence of them, because they all had so many songs to choose from. I suppose it’s my subjective point of view, but that made it a delightful challenge. I think I did well. I’M SO GLAD YOU MENTIONED THE SONGWRITERS. LIKE YOUR 1989 ALBUM, TRIBUTE, YOUR NEW ALBUM THE FELLAS PAYS HOMAGE TO THE SINGERS WHO INSPIRED YOU AS A PERFORMER. AS A SONGWRITER, CAN YOU ALSO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE INFLUENCE OF SONGWRITERS SUCH AS JIMMY VAN HEUSEN AND SAMMY CAHN, IRVING BERLIN, COLE PORTER, AND MICHEL LEGRAND AND MARILYN AND ALAN BERGMAN? The Fellas is the completion of an idea that started in 1989 with Tribute, which was obviously for the women that meant so much to me. These artists pre-dated the wave of singer/songwriters that showed up in the mid-`70s. In those days, these singers with these incredible voices were fortunate enough to have songwriters write for their voices. In my opinion, the songwriters were giants in their own right. That was also before the American popular song was rhythm driven. They were still melody driven. When they’re melody driven, you have a chance to develop very long melody lines which support long, developed lyrical ideas, giving the singer a lot to sing. If you have the strength and stamina of your voice to do that, then these songs are just magnificent to take charge of. I ATTENDED YOUR 2015 CONCERT AT THE NOW SHUTTERED NIGHT CLUB JAZZIZ NIGHTLIFE IN BOCA RATON AND YOU RECENTLY PERFORMED A STRING OF CONCERT DATES AT BIRDLAND IN NEW YORK. HOW MUCH DOES PLAYING THOSE KINDS OF VENUES INFLUENCE THIS MORE JAZZ-ORIENTED DIRECTION OF YOUR NEW ALBUM THE FELLAS AND DOES PLAYING THESE KINDS OF VENUES REFLECT A NEW FOCUS ON YOUR PART? You would think [laughs]. Because of the genesis of The Fellas which was that I’m artist-in-residence at Citrus College in Glendora, California. It’s a regular, two-year community college, but they have this fantastic music department. The level of proficiency is so fantastic that their dean, Bob Slack, had asked me if there was a project that I could think of that would employ their student orchestra, which is the Blue Note Orchestra – that’s how the album came about. To launch the album at Birdland was such a good fit because Birdland has such incredible history. I love all that interwoven storytelling. It brings a luscious texture to the evening, and the audience appreciates it, too. ONE OF THE TREATS OF THE ALBUM IS HEARING YOU SINGING WITH BARRY MANILOW ON “FOR ME AND MY GAL”. HOW DID THIS SUPERB IDEA COME ABOUT? Barry is an old friend. I reached out to him to create the only duet with me on the

8 OCTOBER 2017 • v3 i8

album. He agreed with me right away. He suggested a recreation of Gene Kelly and Judy Garland’s famous duet from the film of the same name. We basically stuck to Roger Edens’ original vocal arrangement. It was great! Peter Hume did the orchestration. Barry came in to Citrus College to look around and his mind was blown because musical education really saved his life. He so appreciated that a community college could have such a far and important reach with these kids. He thought that the state-of-the-art studio was fantastic. He loved the fact that the kids were making all kinds of musical noise in the hallway. It was wonderful. OF “THE FELLAS” TO WHOM YOU PAY TRIBUTE ON THE ALBUM, JOHNNY MATHIS AND TONY BENNETT ARE THE LONE SURVIVORS. DO YOU KNOW IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS MUSICAL PROJECT, AND IF SO, WHAT DO THEY THINK OF IT? I reached out to both of them to see if they were interested in perhaps doing a duet. Johnny was making his own album. I never heard back from Tony Bennett’s camp, so I have no idea. Johnny has recorded a couple of my songs and I even got to perform with him on a PBS special. When the answer that you want doesn’t come back, you have to get peaceful and say, whether they know it or not, they are loved from afar, and are being saluted. That’s all that’s important. IN ADDITION TO THE FELLAS, THE DOUBLE DISC SET THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE: THE COMPLETE ARISTA 7” SINGLES SET HAS JUST BEEN RELEASED. DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE ARISTA SINGLE? I don’t even remember all of the singles, so I can’t tell you what is my most or least favorite. The one that is most touching to me is “Midnight Blue”, because it was my first single. What’s interesting about a lot of those songs is that they’re reflective of those musical times. They sound like the seventies and the eighties. It’s a fantastic gift to have that collection. They’re all remastered so they sound good. I was consulted on the liner notes and it was lovely that both (CDs) came out on the same day. THIS TALK OF 7” SINGLES MADE ME WONDER HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE WHOLE VINYL REVIVAL. I think the revival of vinyl is fantastic. The reason that it’s being revived is that kids are listening to vinyl and hearing that luscious, acoustic analog sound. It’s so new to them. They’re actually hearing the air in the room and the mouth noises of the singers. When you’re just living on (recording program) Pro-Tools and a computer-generated sound, you squeeze all the humanity out of it. It’s lovely that it’s being reintroduced into the universal wallpaper, as it were, and that kids are digging it again. FINALLY, AS ONE OF BETTE MIDLER’S FORMER HARLETTES, DID YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE HER DO HELLO, DOLLY!? I haven’t seen her do Hello, Dolly! but I congratulated her right after she won the Tony. I’m so happy for her and proud of her.

What is TRUVADA for PrEP?

Who should not take TRUVADA for PrEP?

TRUVADA for PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a prescription medicine that is used together with safer sex practices to help reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 through sex. This use is only for HIV-negative adults who are at high risk of getting HIV-1. To help determine your risk of getting HIV-1, talk openly with your healthcare provider about your sexual health. Ask your healthcare provider if you have questions about how to prevent getting HIV. Always practice safer sex and use condoms to lower the chance of sexual contact with body fluids. Never reuse or share needles or other items that have body fluids on them.

Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP if you: ® Already have HIV-1 infection or if you do not know your HIV-1 status. If you are HIV-1 positive, you need to take other medicines with TRUVADA to treat HIV-1. TRUVADA by itself is not a complete treatment for HIV-1. If you have HIV-1 and take only TRUVADA, your HIV-1 may become harder to treat over time. ® Also take certain medicines to treat hepatitis B infection.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION What is the most important information I should know about TRUVADA for PrEP? Before taking TRUVADA for PrEP: ® You must be HIV-negative before you start taking TRUVADA for PrEP. You must get tested to make sure that you do not already have HIV-1. Do not take TRUVADA to reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 unless you are confirmed to be HIV-negative. ® Many HIV-1 tests can miss HIV-1 infection in a person who has recently become infected. If you have flu-like symptoms, you could have recently become infected with HIV-1. Tell your healthcare provider if you had a flu-like illness within the last month before starting or at any time while taking TRUVADA for PrEP. Symptoms of new HIV-1 infection include tiredness, fever, joint or muscle aches, headache, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, night sweats, and/or enlarged lymph nodes in the neck or groin. While taking TRUVADA for PrEP: ® You must continue to use safer sex practices. Just taking TRUVADA for PrEP may not keep you from getting HIV-1. ® You must stay HIV-negative to keep taking TRUVADA for PrEP: ® Get tested for HIV-1 at least every 3 months. ® If you think you were exposed to HIV-1, tell your healthcare provider right away. ® To further help reduce your risk of getting HIV-1: ® Know your HIV status and the HIV status of your partners. ® Get tested for other sexually transmitted infections. Other infections make it easier for HIV to infect you. ® Get information and support to help reduce risky sexual behavior, such as having fewer sex partners. ® Do not miss any doses of TRUVADA. Missing doses may increase your risk of getting HIV-1 infection. ® If you do become HIV-1 positive, you need more medicine than TRUVADA alone to treat HIV-1. TRUVADA by itself is not a complete treatment for HIV-1. If you have HIV-1 and take only TRUVADA, your HIV-1 may become harder to treat over time. TRUVADA can cause serious side effects: ® Worsening of hepatitis B (HBV) infection. TRUVADA is not approved to treat HBV. If you have HBV and stop taking TRUVADA, your HBV may suddenly get worse. Do not stop taking TRUVADA without first talking to your healthcare provider, as they will need to monitor your health.

What are the other possible side effects of TRUVADA for PrEP? Serious side effects of TRUVADA may also include: ® Kidney problems, including kidney failure. Your healthcare provider may do blood tests to check your kidneys before and during treatment with TRUVADA. If you develop kidney problems, your healthcare provider may tell you to stop taking TRUVADA. ® Too much lactic acid in your blood (lactic acidosis), which is a serious but rare medical emergency that can lead to death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get these symptoms: weakness or being more tired than usual, unusual muscle pain, being short of breath or fast breathing, stomach pain with nausea and vomiting, cold or blue hands and feet, feel dizzy or lightheaded, or a fast or abnormal heartbeat. ® Severe liver problems, which in rare cases can lead to death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get these symptoms: skin or the white part of your eyes turns yellow, dark “tea-colored” urine, light-colored stools, loss of appetite for several days or longer, nausea, or stomach-area pain. ® Bone problems, including bone pain, softening, or thinning, which may lead to fractures. Your healthcare provider may do tests to check your bones. Common side effects in people taking TRUVADA for PrEP are stomach-area (abdomen) pain, headache, and decreased weight. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effects that bother you or do not go away.

What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking TRUVADA for PrEP? ® All your health problems. Be sure to tell your healthcare provider if you have or have had any kidney, bone, or liver problems, including hepatitis. ® If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if TRUVADA can harm your unborn baby. If you become pregnant while taking TRUVADA for PrEP, talk to your healthcare provider to decide if you should keep taking TRUVADA. ® If you are breastfeeding (nursing) or plan to breastfeed. Do not breastfeed. If you become HIV-positive, HIV can be passed to the baby in breast milk. ® All the medicines you take, including prescription and over-thecounter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. TRUVADA may interact with other medicines. Keep a list of all your medicines and show it to your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine. ® If you take certain other medicines with TRUVADA, your healthcare provider may need to check you more often or change your dose. Lately, gay actor and vlogger Jeffery Self has been making a name for himself as the author of Y/A novels, including 2016’s Drag Teen. His new Y/A novel, A Very, Very Bad Thing (Push, 2017), is about the things that teenage boys do in the name of love and how quickly they can go wrong, especially when one is the son of a homophobic TV evangelist. An Unkindness of Ghosts (Akashic, 2017), the sci-fi debut by Rivers Solomon, takes place aboard a spaceship named Matilda and features a teased and taunted main character named Aster, described as “odd-mannered, obsessive, withdrawn” who is on a mission to discover the potential connection between the deaths of her mother and the Matilda’s potentate. A Y/A novel in verse, Vanilla (Push, 2017) by poet Billy Merrell, is said to be a story of “coming out, coming into your own and coming apart”, that is alternately heartbreaking and hopeful. The Off Season (University of Wisconsin Press, 2017) by author and educator Amy Hoffman is a Provincetown-set “comic, romantic romp” finds artist Nora, relocated to the queer tip of Cape Cod with her partner Janelle, for some healing and inspiration, and getting more than she bargained for. The pair’s sham marriage is threatened when Lucky reconnects with her first lover Nisha, who is preparing to enter an arranged marriage.

Award-winning, Grammy-nominated, Guggenheim fellow and composer/pianist/activist/educator Fred Hersch has many notable achievements to his name, not the least of which is being an openly gay, HIV+ man in the world of jazz. He writes all about it in his memoir Good Things Happen Slowly: A Life In and Out of Jazz (Crown Archetype, 2017). With the controversial proposed ban on transgender personnel serving in the military on everyone’s mind at the time of this writing, Tell: Love, Defiance and the Military Trial at the Tipping Point for Gay Rights (ForeEdge, 2017) by Major Margaret Witt with Tim Connor takes readers back to the 1993 passage of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy and its 2011 repeal. Called “the first definitive biography” of celebrated Broadway caricaturist Al Hirschfeld, known for his distinguished New York Times drawings, the only thing missing from Ellen Stern’s Hirschfeld: The Biography (Sarah Crichton Books, 2017) are the drawings themselves.

FLY THE COOP THIS THANKSGIVING IN PERU, The Land of Plenty By Dominick Demmers

18 OCTOBER 2017 • v3 i8

T

hanksgiving is the busiest travel weekend of the year. 48 million Americans are expected to hit the road this year and another 27 million are flying. Why not escape the hustle and bustle of planes and automobiles this holiday with an adventure that includes a fabulous train ride through beautiful Peru? Bryan Herb is whisking adventurous gay travelers to the land of plenty this Thanksgiving for an exciting tour excursion like none other before. When most people think of Peru, they think Machu Picchu. But Bryan’s journey begins in Lima, the cultural heart of the country, where colonial architecture, superb museums and glamorous shops, bars and restaurants are all mere steps away. Then it’s off to the Sacred Valley for a few days of exploring the magical land that combines ancient Inca culture with newer settlement grandeur. From there, the tour leads to Machu Picchu aboard a 5 star luxury dining train, the Belmond Hiram Bingham. A Thanksgiving dinner will be served on board and champaign toasted as the train travels along the gorgeous Urubamba Riverto, with views of ancient Inca ruins in the distance. Once in Machu Picchu, adventurers will experience heaven on earth in a sprawling Andean style village hotel, nestled high in the forest clouds within twelve secluded acres of exquisite beauty. A first-class restaurant boasts stunning views of the rushing Vilcanota River and adventurers will not want to miss the Inkaterra spas that incorporate real natural essences from the mountains into their treatments.

long hours crafting and developing their tours. They travel to the destinations themselves, making contacts, visiting sites and venues, and brainstorming new ideas. “People would be blown away if they actually knew how much time we spend on the details of each vacation experience, “ explains Bryan. A former high school English teacher, Bryan’s appreciation for fabulous hotels and resorts have landed him on every continent but Antarctica. He has toured the ancient catacombs of Rome, swam with horses in Australia’s rainforest, haggled with Hong Kong merchants, danced the Samba in Brazil, and studied ecology in a Scottish commune. “We work closely with people from many different cultures to uncover unique, exciting, and thrilling escapades.” Joel and Bryan go on every tour to ensure a seamless experience for their guests. They’re there to provide assistance, create surprises and also manage group dynamics, an important part of the group travel experience that is overlooked by all other tour companies. What also makes Zoom Vacations different is that while most luxury adventure travel companies target Baby Boomer retirees, Zoom Vacations crafts their tours for a Generation X clientele. They keep their itineraries younger, hipper, and livelier, often taking travelers to the location’s trendy restaurants and nightlife destinations.

Additionally, Bryan and Joel work to make the experience expand beyond the vacation. They see Zoom as creating a community, a network, a global movement of camaraderie, friendship, inclusion, and support. In fact, 80% of Zoom adventurers are repeat travelers. “I cannot tell you how many people who met on a Zoom Vacations excursion have become incredibly close friends,” says Joel. “It’s very common for travelers at the end of one trip to book a future tour together.” That’s the thing about adventure traveling. Once hooked, travelers can’t wait for the next exciting getaway. Bryan and Joel understand the hankering well, and it’s why even while preparing for Peru in Thanksgiving, Bryan is hard at work prepping his March tour to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. “Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos is probably the most quintessential Zoom Vacations experience,” he ruminates. “The tour is active, but not physically exerting. In fact, it is completely pampering, with the most delicious foods from the very best restaurants. The cultural history is unparalleled and the travelers experience so many unique experiences like the offering of alms to monks and the elephant sanctuary in Laos. Our farewell and welcome events are true wonders, embodying modernity as well as a nod to the region’s past.” Visit their website for more information on the March trip.

The tour ends in Cusco where travelers will stay in a former monastery and national monument dating from 1592. The delightful retreat combines centuries-old charm with luxury hotel service, making it the perfect home away from home from which to discover the delights of the vibrant city featuring old and modern architecture, markets, and galleries. Complimenting the spectacular sites throughout the journey is the unforgettable cuisine. Gourmet dinners, lunches with cocktails and scrumptious breakfasts will be served each day, as well as High Tea at the Orient Express Sanctuary Lodge. Optional excursions such as horseback riding, a rare orchid tour, private pre-Columbian art collections and a fourth century archeological site in Lima are also available. “I have been going to Machu Picchu for fifteen years and I’m thrilled to be able to take travelers to locations off the beaten tourist path,” says Bryan Herb, Chief Marketing Officer at Zoom Vacations. “The magic of Peru is quite honestly priceless.” Bryan and his partner at Zoom, Joel Cabrera, refer to themselves as “experiential travel creators”. They founded Zoom Vacations together fifteen years ago with the idea to tailor each excursion with one-of-a-kind experiences that enhance the minds, hearts, and souls of adventurers. No two trips are the same. Like any design artist, Bryan and Joel spend

Their guests play hard and experience rich and exciting, new things, yet end their day at a beautiful five-star hotel or resort, enjoying a spa treatment, an impeccable dinner, and a perfect night’s sleep.

WHAT IS YOUR HALLOWEEN COSTUME PERSONALITY? By Mik Hyldebrandt Some people spend months preparing while others go for a last-minute solution. To help you deal with the stress of picking out a costume for Halloween, we thought it would be helpful first to determine what personality you are when it comes to picking out a costume. Then comes the task of choosing a costume, creating it from scratch or throwing something on last minute.

ALL OUT No expense spared, months of preparation, and meticulous attention to detail characterizes your choice of costume. You want to wow others at the party (and preferably go to a fancy costume ball!), but you also enjoy the process of putting together the costume and seeking out just the right props to go with it. ALWAYS SEXY You like to be the trick and the treat! You see Halloween as an opportunity to flaunt your progress at the gym and turn a few heads at the same time. You like the idea of dressing up as a conventionally sexy character and will either invest in a skimpy costume or modify and alter a regular costume, so it fits better and shows off the bod. Sexy policemen, $50 Sparta Costume, $80

Your childish soul comes out at Halloween, and you opt for a silly costume option that will put smiles on people’s faces. A funny costume is also the perfect opening for some light-hearted conversation and a way to talk to a lot of individuals at the Halloween party. Linguine, Sausage and Meatballs Costume, $33

LAST MINUTE Sure, you enjoy Halloween, but it always catches you a little off guard, and you never think ahead and plan a costume months in advance – who has the time, right? But, you’re also not the guy who doesn’t partake in the fun, so you buy or borrow a fun wig last minute, do a quick rummage through your closet, and voilá: you’re a Swedish tennis player! Wig, $5

WEAR IT LIVE IT SAY IT

PROUD! By Mik Hyldebrandt

The Atlanta Gay Pride Festival presents a unique and fun platform where gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender and queer persons can promote a positive image and advance unity and visibility. All great things, but it’s also your chance to go all out on everything Pride-themed and rainbow-colored, and bust out that inner unicorn! Here are a few of our picks that will be guaranteed to show your PRIDE!

ACCESSORIZE WELL If you’re not into going all out rainbow from tip to toe a cool leather bracelet will be a good way to show your pride. Rainbow Bracelet $89, loveandpride.com

THINK COMFORT

Of course, you want to look cute, but consider that you will be moving around a lot – going to Piedmont Park, barhopping in Midtown, marching in the parade – so wear something comfortable, you can wear all day (and night).

THINK SAFET Y

You should also think about your safety. Sure, Midtown is pretty safe and liberal haven for a complete unicorn outfit, but venture just a little bit outside the Midtown bubble and your rainbow-colored tutu could be a problem.

JUST LOVE IT!

Show your pride and share the love – and we also love that Topher DiMaggio is modeling this T-shirt for us. Andrew Christian Love Tee $35, andrewchristian.com

BAG OF

Tricks By Mik Hyldebrandt

30 OCTOBER 2017 • v3 i8

Pride is an amazing time where the sheer rate of gay people, parties, flirts and potential hook-ups is substantially increased. So, to be proactive, we’ve put together a little bag of tricks that can prepare you for a hot date or refresh you after a night with the guy you met during Pride.

PACK IT UP A bag is perhaps not the most practical thing to be carrying around – but think about all of the advantages of being prepared for a potential hook-up! Yeah, case closed. Herschel Chapter Travel Kit, $25

CONTROL B.O. After marching the parade and spending the night on the dancefloor, it may be a good idea to do a little refresh to control your body odor. If you’re no way near an actual shower, a couple of good swipes with a cooling deodorant stick will do. Malin+Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant, $14

BREATHE FREELY Bad breath can ruin even the most intimate moment, so make sure your oral hygiene is taken care of with a little mouthwash and a good brushing when possible! Dr. Fresh 3in1 Travel Brush Kit, $2.19

FRICTIONLESS FUN Even you may be very passionate with your Pride flirt you may need a little lubricating help so that there is no friction where it matters. Pjur Body Glide for Him, $29

CONTROL B.O. II Lugging a perfume bottle around town is not practical, but if you go with a travel size, it’s a different story. Don’t douse yourself in fragrance, but go for a discreet unisex scent that will make your Pride flirt want to move closer to you to breathe you in. Le Labo Liquid Balm Bergamote Parfume, $90

HAIR OUT OF PLACE If your hair is beyond saving save for a shower and shampoo, a cap is the way to go. It’ll cover up your messed up hair and even provide a little cover if you look a bit tired … Nasty Pig Snout Cap, $29

FRESHEN UP BEFORE AND AFTER Chances are you won’t get that shower fresh feeling once you’re out and about - unless you use these cleansing cloths! They are perfect to cleanse your face with quickly, and they can be used to freshen up on the rest of your body – both during and the day after the party. Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths (30 pcs.), $15

DEAR DEVEN: I want to make my honey a special birthday gift. He likes very expensive, old books. I’m stuck! - “Delight”

Find an inexpensive, online copy of one of his favorite books and record an audio version of a chapter for him. This way he can enjoy two of his favorite things at the same time: other people’s words from your mouth.

DEAR DEVEN: I have an adorable problem: My boyfriend has the worst singing voice. Even he acknowledges it, but he is so happy singing. I know that you sing. Can you help me out here? - “Glee”

Encourage him by purchasing a home karaoke machine and set the dial to auto-tune.

Image: Franz Szony Makeup: Joseph Adivari

DEAR DEVEN: I am making out my will and have no immediate family. I need some help navigating where to leave my money. - “Generosity”

46 OCTOBER 2017 • v3 i8

Every person reading this just said, “leave it to me!” Assign your money where you had love in your life. If you loved pets, donate to a shelter. If you loved art, donate to a museum. If you loved your community, then donate to charity. Please put your express wishes in writing.

DEAR DEVEN: I have a milestone birthday coming up. I’m healthy and not messed up like I probably should have been. I don’t want a party, but I want to be around friends and have fun. What do I want? - “Rejoice”

Have a get together with friends and just don’t call it a party.

DEAR DEVEN: My parents, of all people, referred me for an interview and now I have my dream job! How can I pay them back? - “Exuberance”

With a percentage of your paycheck! Spend time with your parents in any way you can. Seeing you happy and off the streets is all the thanks they want. Congratulations, now get to work!

DEAR DEVEN: My partner is working overseas for three months and I want to send him constant reminders that I miss him. Help me out. - “Bliss”

Create little videos of mementos from around the home and post them privately online so they are easily accessible to him 24/7.

DEAR DEVEN: I now live as modern minimalist. How can I share the intrinsic beauty of this lifestyle? - “Elation” DEAR DEVEN: I’m in love. Will it last? - “Euphoric”

Just shine, honey. The act of “being” is i ndeed sharing.

Yes. Over and over.

DEAR FRIENDS: I do not offer advice, only my experience. Send me your questions: DevenGreen@gmail.com PS: Special celebrity audio version at GoliathAtlanta.com
