As a part of the study and exploration of the edge conditions, Hua Zhong University of Science and Technology became the project site. The objective was to develop an unique relationship of the water edge condition that utilizes the existing canal and water system that is Blended with the urban edge that interacts in both directions, which also creates a urban fabric that focuses on the intimacy of the space to encourage the interaction between people and the environment. The design was presented heavily on perspective renderings that derived the idea from the traditional Chinese scroll painting, which utilizes the length and transitions to express the narrative.

Manufactured Landscape Location: Puente Hills Landfill Cooperators: Chris Valenzuela, Tina Jedari, Reema Ahmad

An exploration of design approach heavily based on a narrative that was develop prior to the design process. This particular project focused on the future of recycling, which aimed to encourage the act of recycling in order to reduce the raw materials being wasted. The site characteristic, being one of the largest landfill, was utilized to create a sequential experience that presented the potential of recycling for the selected material that caused problems in landfills. Through the research on landfills and the problematic materials, the disposed tires was selected to express the idea.

Hijiyama Army Cemetry Hiroshima, Japan Project Site Approximately: 2.5acres Constructed: 1872 Located on South part of Hijiyama Park, a small mountain approximately 70m high.

Hijiyama Army Cemetry 24

Hijiyama Army Cemetry Location: Hiroshima, Japan Cooperators: Yukaha Kidera, Kuniharu Tamai Type: Professional - PREC Institute, Fukuoka Office, Japan

A historic cemetry located on the Hijiyama Mountain in Hiroshima, Japan, that was developed in 1872. The nuclear incident during World War 2 has once destructed the cemetry, which was reconstructed in 1960 in the current condition. The cemetry contains the relic of the soldiers that fought in the war starting from the Satsuma Rebellion in 1877 to the World War 2, which includes soldiers of foreign countries including China, Germany, and France. The design proposal aimed to redevelop the cemetry to a quiet and comfortable area that will allow the family members to visit in peace.

Salton Sea Project Rendering Studio Work, Spring 2017

UNEARTHING POTENCY This project showcases our experience of the Salton Sea in a personal level of interpretation and exploration. Through research and exploration of the Salton Sea first hand, the unseen attributes of the site were converted into visual patterns and shapes that are translated by our experiences and perception. The attributes that we included are: Wind, Landform, Bird Energy and Waves, by showcasing these patterns, the relationships between the four slowly emerge, resulting in the mapping on this board.
