Two of the most powerful warriors are patience and time. A lot of us do not want to wait or do not have the patience to. We all want to hurry up and get where we are going. When you hear the word “time,” what do you think about?
Most of us think time to go to work or time to make dinner. I am sure a lot of us are always thinking we do not have enough time to do what we need or want to do. We are always in such a rush. Everywhere you look people are trying to get somewhere but always end up waiting.
Time is what we all want the most but we can use it in the worst ways. There are things in our life that we make time for such as going to work, spending time with family, or going on vacation. Time is something that we must make a priority, especially for the things that matter the most in our lives. When we stop to think about it, time is the longest distance between two places.
We must not waste the time that we have. There are so many things that we can accomplish with the amount of time given to us each day. We have to strive to live each day to the fullest and try our best at whatever we do—just as in the days when Jesus was here on this earth. He made the most of His time by trying to reach those in need of Him and teaching those who believed in Him. The Lord tells us in Ephesians 5:15-16, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
I believe that the Lord is telling us that we need to be careful with what we are doing with our time and to not get caught up in the worldly things that are evil. This is why it is important that we make time to read our Bible and enjoy the time in which we get to participate in fellowship with others.
Life will not run smoothly all the time, but by keeping your mind on the Lord, you will see that your time will feel more at ease. Remember that time is non-refundable, so we need to use it with our best intentions. Time is free, but it is also priceless. Time has a way of showing us what really matters. Often, we tend to measure time by clocks instead of measuring it by the moments that we live and the memories that we make. I often think of time being like a waterfall you cannot touch.
A lot of us go through life saying, “I wish I had more time so I could have told that someone how I really felt.” Do
not let this life pass you by. Make sure that you live each day to the fullest and tell that someone that you love them. Time goes by so fast, just as grains of sand slipping through our hands. In 2 Corinthians 4:18, the Bible tell us “As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the thing that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
This verse applies to our time we have here on this earth. We need to make the most of it with our family and friends—as one day, before we know it, time will pass us by and it will be gone. However, our lives in Heaven will be forever and time will no longer have control over us.
