Job Training & Career Services
Businesses & Goodwill
Social Enterprises
Goodwill offers job training programs for individuals facing barriers to employment. Some participants with limited work histories, educational attainment, and/or English language skills complete a work-readiness program as the first step toward a job in customer service, food service, retail, housekeeping, administration, and other fields. Others may choose to enter a skills-training program that prepares them to succeed in a specific industry, such as human services. Individuals with disabilities who require structured support to work are often trained on-the-job and, over time, transition to work in the community.
Businesses such as Chipotle, Stop & Shop, the US Postal Service, and others have reaped the many benefits of being a Goodwill/Boston Career Link business partner, including pre-screened candidates, reduced recruiting costs, trained and dedicated workers, increased employee retention, and access to tax credits. These benefits and more contribute to a healthier bottom line for business partners.
The Goodwill Stores are a social enterprise offering gently used donated clothing and household items to a broad range of individuals and families at very affordable prices. At the same time, they provide on-the-job training and internship opportunities to individuals enrolled in Goodwill job training programs, as well as jobs and career-ladder opportunities. For a complete list of our donation centers and stores please visit www.goodwillmass.org.
