Our Promise
Our team of highly-qualified professionals plan, design, and manage airport programs of all sizes, from small general aviation to large commercial service airports, heliports and military airfield. Responsive delivery of services and support through preliminary planning and design, FAA and state processing, financing, construction and project close-out is our promise to those we serve.
GMC’s airport clients span across 6 states including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, South
Carolina and Tennessee.
Infrastructure
Airports provide significant economic impact for any community. We understand the importance of protecting this asset by focusing on solid infrastructure that promotes safe surface movement and airfield logistics. We use our knowledge and experience to determine the appropriate schedule for maintaining pavements, designing appropriate pavement structure, implementing phased construction to minimize downtime and maneuvering all steps for our clients.
Aviation Planning
Great planning creates great airports. Aviation Planning is a critical component of the development, operation, maintenance, and public support of an airport. In today’s ever-changing aviation landscapes, you need aviation planning specialists who understand the complete picture; who are adept at everything from master planning, to compliance, to public involvement; who can navigate tough regulatory landscapes as well as an airport’s own unique considerations.
Aviation planning has implications on revenue and expenses, and can impact air carriers, tenants, vendors, and the community at-large. From concept to delivery, GMC’s holistic perspective assists our clients to move each planning project through a comprehensive and inclusive process resulting in a strategic set of dynamic objectives and the resources needed to achieve them.
Terminals
First impressions are important when your economic prospects or commercial and general aviation guests arrive at your airport. GMC has designed several functional and efficient terminal buildings from prototypes to unique design facilities across the Southeast. Our interior team specializes in design build out including concessions and other unique needs for clients.
After selecting GMC as our consultant, we have experienced exemplary project design, delivery, and oversight. GMC is not only our consultant, but a trusted advocate for our airport. As an Airport Manager, they make my job easier by keeping me informed in all aspects of the project, and keeping the project as minimally impactful to our operations as possible. ”
— Adam Foutz, Airport Manager Former Pryor Field Airport Authority in Decatur, Alabama
Hangars
Hangars are an airport’s economic heart. They shelter aircraft, allow people to maintain them out of the weather and provide income from long term leases. GMC has extensive hangar design experience from general aviation “T” hangars to business and large industrial and military hangars.

Environmental
GMC provides comprehensive professional airport environmental services, including environmental assessments, wildlife hazard assessments, wildlife hazard management plans, wetlands delineations, environmental permitting and more. Our dedicated team of environmental experts examines the potential direct, indirect and cumulative effects on the environment, including social, cultural, and economic and natural resources for any airport project. GMC has maintained sound working relationships with the FAA, FEMA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other state agencies to accomplish these tasks as efficiently as possible.
Electrical
Electrical projects are an integral part of any airfield safety and landing system. These projects can range from edge lighting, guidance signage, NAVAIDS, equipment shelters, lighted wind cones and many others with electrical components. GMC has designed and installed a variety of instrument systems and other related NAVAIDS such as Automated Weather Observation Systems (AWOS) and Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) at airports across the region.
