At GMC, every project is guided by the foundational concept that communities are built by people, not companies, and we strive to serve our communities with quality, integrity, creativity, and care. As one of the Southeast’s most comprehensive multi-disciplined firms, GMC is equipped to provide all the services associated with architecture, interior design, civil engineering, environmental services, landscape architecture, planning, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, electrical engineering, surveying, and disaster recovery.

Planning Community architecture is often the heart of a neighborhood. For decades, GMC has excelled in planning, programming, and designing community projects that engage and inspire the public. Shaping a sustainable future – particularly through the urban environment – will be one of the greatest challenges in the 21st century. GMC employs a collaborative approach that assures a broad base of knowledge on which to develop strategies for both short and long-term growth and development. We create places that are not only efficient, but culturally appropriate and environmentally accountable.

Constellation Mixed-Use Development Huntsville, Alabama The development itself will include approximately 40,000 square feet of office space, 60,000 square feet of street-level retail space with restaurants and out-parcels, and 130 residential condominiums with a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom units. This portion of the 12 acre development includes 6 buildings and a 580-space parking deck located behind the residential and retail building.

Retail Developers rely on partners like us that can help them design marketable retail spaces. GMC has worked with developers to plan and develop retail spaces, from major infrastructure with streetscapes to final fit-out with millwork, lighting, and fixtures. We’ll help you design inviting streetscapes with grey or vanilla shell spaces, and then provide you with the graphics, schematics, BOMA calculations, and Lease Outline Drawings (LOD) so you can market and secure tenant agreements. If infrastructure or shell spaces revisions are needed, we will update designs to match changing market conditions or tenant requirements. GMC has the experience needed to help you analyze a site for a ground up investment or to creatively re-purpose vacant properties.

Multifamily Our architects and interior designers aim to elevate spaces with great design and involved client feedback. Our process is deeply rooted in merging form and function and balancing the formal needs of the project with raw inspiration. Every space has a distinct story to tell, and we work hand-in-hand with our clients from the beginning stages of design through final construction to achieve their vision. We seek to first understand the “must-haves,” and then translate those desires into the most functional, yet cost-effective design solutions. Utilizing tried-and-true best practices, coupled with current trends and philosophies, we bring perspective, expertise and our belief that design cultivates a true sense of place to every project.
