PAT SMITH MOTHER OF SLAIN U.S. FOREIGN SERVICE OFFICER SEAN SMITH MONDAY

Patricia (Pat) Smith is the mother of Sean Smith, who was killed during the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. Ever since that night, Smith has been outspoken about learning the truth behind why four Americans – including her only child – lost their lives. Smith was a single mother who raised Sean in San Diego, California. Sean served in the U.S. Air Force and was promoted to the rank of staff sergeant before completing his military service in 2002. After that he joined the U.S. Foreign Service and was based in The Hague, Netherlands with his wife and two children.
