SKALLEAGUE OF THE YEAR
Winning the “Skal Club of the year award “ was one of our biggest achievements and it’s thanks to the members contributions and participation in our various CSR projects. We also managed to do more tree planting at Karura forest and St. Pauls children center . This is an activity that aligns with our sustainability goal of helping in increasing our country’s forest cover from the current 8.9 per cent to the required 10 per cent by the year 2030. Planting trees will help in purifying the air and formation of rainfall which is significant in agricultural production for our country Kenya. We will continue with this initiatives in the year 2024 and we will be calling up on you to participate. In this 1st edition of our Skal Kenya Nairobi Now Newsletter, I am happy to inform you that my theme for the year 2024 will be “Serve with Purpose”. The idea is to encourage our members to get engaged with the club activities throughout the year. Even when you are not available to attend an activity, think about how else you can serve the club by participating. That way we will have continuous engagement for the betterment of our club.

Skal Leadership In the dynamic realm of leadership, the adage “we build off those who have come before us” resonates profoundly within Skal Kenya. Our past Presidents, custodians of the association’s legacy, have left an indelible mark on Skal Kenya. Through their hard work, thoughtfulness, and visionary leadership, they have not only shaped the organization but also served as invaluable ambassadors and catalysts for positive change. Armed with experience and respect, past Presidents play a pivotal role as facilitators of progress. It became evident that the time to acknowledge and pay tribute to both past and present leadership was long overdue. In recognition of their contributions, Skal National team organized a special lunch in Nairobi and Mombasa, bringing together past and present Presidents. This event served as a poignant tribute to the dedication and exemplary leadership exhibited during their respective terms. The lunch provided a unique opportunity for Skal leadership, past and present presidents to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the collective achievements that have defined our club.
Presidents in attendance. It provided a significant opportunity to reflect on the collective journey and strengthen the bonds that make Skal Kenya an exceptional association. In parting, let me leave you with a timeless sentiment that captures the essence of leadership:
True leadership, as we acknowledge, goes beyond titles and positions. It is about the lives touched, the relationships nurtured, and the mentorship provided. The wisdom, vision, dedication, and commitment of our past Presidents have laid a solid foundation for our club, fostering the Skal spirit of friendship and camaraderie.
“We make a LIVING by what we get… BUT… we make a LIFE by what we GIVE!”
The lunch gatherings in Nairobi and Mombasa were not only memorable occasions but also deeply appreciated by all the
