GOSFORD TIMES 10.9.1915 Private P.B. Allen, son of Mr B. Allen of Hawksbury River and Sydney, died on August 11 th, from wounds received at Gallipoli. His death took place at sea whilst he was being conveyed to Malta.
GOSFORD TIMES 10.9.1915 SPENCER (From Our Correspondent) We are sorry to hear of the death of Mr R. B. Allen at the Dardanelles. Most of the heroes from about this district who have been in action are either killed or wounded. Such is the price of freedom and liberty.
