Bean was a well liked chap
Goulburn Evening Post Thursday 24th May 1917. QUEANBEYAN (From local Papers) Private A. H. Bean of Queanbeyan, has been wounded.
Queanbeyan Age & Queanbeyan Observer. Friday 28th October 1917. P.2. The Rev. Robert Elliott received a telegram yesterday to the effect that it is now reported that Private A. H. Bean was killed in action on 11th April last. Deceased was a son of Mr A. A. Bean, Station Hill, Queanbeyan. The deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in their sad loss.
Gosford Times 29.11.1917. KILLED IN ACTION. Private Bert Bean, of Wamberal, was killed in action in France on 11th April last. He was posted missing, and it was only recently that his name appeared in the official list of those who had been killed in action. Private Bean lived with his guardians, Mr & Mrs Forbes Campbell, at Wamberal prior to enlisting last year and went to France after a brief period at Salisbury Plains, England.
