“The Way it Was” is a pictorial, social and oral history of the rural community encompassing Mangrove Mountain, Somersby, Kulnura, Peats Ridge and Mangrove Creek. It provides an account of what everyday life was like for the people since its settlement and shows how they have adjusted their daily lives in order to accommodate the social changes that have swept the area during the course of the twentieth century.
