Gosford Times 10th May 1917 DIED FOR HIS COUNTRY The Boys Industrial Home on the Penang has turned out quite a number of valiant soldiers to do duty for the honor of Australia, and it is with the deepest regret we learn of misfortune meeting these brave lads. During the week Superintendant of the Home has received word that Corporal George Weeks, formerly in that institution, had been killed in France on April 9th. This young fellow had been through the Gallipoli campaign, and returning to Australia, re embarked for service on the western front.
