Gosford Times 3rd September 1915 Private W Young was farewelled at the railway station on Sunday night. He was returning to Liverpool Camp after being home on final leave. Frank Young left here on Monday to go into camp. Gosford Times 24th September 1915 Trooper W C Young, of Ourimbah, writes from Adelaide to say that the members of the Expeditionary Forces were accorded a fine reception by the citizens of that city. Gosford Times 15th September 1916 IN MEMORIAM YOUNG- In loving memory of our dear son, Private W C Young, 20th Battalion, died of wounds in France, August 5th, 1916 Aged 23 years Sadly we are thinking Of our soldier son so brave; Those who knew him loved him, His King and Country called him, The call was not in vain; On Britain's roll of honour, You will find our hero's name. Inserted by his loving father and mother, J and E Young, Ourimbah. YOUNG-In loving memory of our dear brother, Private W C Young, 20th Battalion, died of wounds in France, August 5th, 1916. Gosford Times 22nd September 1916 Motion of Sympathy. At last meeting of the Federated Enginedrivers' and Firemans' Association, held at Broken Hill, it was stated that the brother of Mr A Young, a member of the Association, and also Secretary of the Barrier District Assembly P L L , had been killed in action in France. A motion expressing the sympathy of the Union with Mr. Young (son of Mr Joseph Young, Ourimbah) was carried.
Gosford Times 5th July 1917 Last week Messrs Burns, Joyce and Morris, members of the Reception Committee at Ourimbah, presented the parents of the late Privates William Young and Les Tynan with a framed memorial photo of their sons, also an inscribed gold medal.
