Tips for transferring: Transferring can be challenging, but many Goshen College students who have done it will say that it was the best choice they could have made.

#1 Make sure you’re ready One of the first steps for a smooth transfer is making sure that you get the most out of the time you spent at your previous school: transfer your credits.

If you’re still enrolled in your first school and know where you’re going next, see if you can make your schedule full of equivalent classes toward the next school’s requirements. I did that and entered my junior year at Goshen essentially finished with my gen eds. JD HERSHBERGER a broadcasting major from Hesston, Kansas

International and intercultural education are required as a part of Goshen’s core curriculum. You can earn the appropriate credits by participating in our unique study abroad program, Study-Service Term, and other campusbased programs either overseas or right here on campus. Already studied abroad? In most cases, your international experience will meet some or all of your intercultural requirements.

#2 Try new things

I decided to start doing things I have never done before, so I became a part of Campus Activities Council and the Black Student Union, which was one of the best experiences in my college life. GABBY WILLIAMS a social work major from Minooka, Illinois
