TERMS OF SALE Cash or bankable check. All cattle are to be paid for during or immediately following the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Registration papers will not be transferred until the animal is paid for in full. When making settlement, please leave specific instructions in writing for transfer and shipping. Each animal sold becomes the property of the buyer as soon as it is sold. We recommend that insurance be obtained sale day. We will not be responsible for any loss or injury after animals are sold. Each animal will be offered to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bids by declaring all bids off and reselling the animal in question. We retain the right to two successful flushes at buyer’s convenience and seller’s expense, on all lots in the sale, unless otherwise stated. Dear friends and fellow breeders, It is with great enthusiasm we present to you the Second Annual Ranch Royalty Production Sale. We are humbled and blessed to be able to do every day what we love and have a passion for, and we would like to invite you to come take a look at our “Ranch Royalty.” Along with Bar One Ranch, George and Karen Sprague, we have the pleasure of including OJJ Cattle Ranch, Bruce and Linda Sharp. Together we have brought together a group of heifers that are not only high quality, and can compete and any level, but more importantly they are all backed by strong prominent cow families. This year’s offering will include only 4 embryo heifer calves, the rest are all natural calves. We believe this speaks to the strength of a cow herd. Eight females sired by the 3 time back-to-back National Champion Bull GKB 88X Laramie B293, will sell. His first calf crop has been nothing less than exceptional!! Three females sired by JCS Open Range 2395 ET, will sell. The “Open Range” calves this year are even better than his first calf crop. _ Bar One 1 Ranch We are proud and delighted to participate in the 2015 ”Ranch Rayalty” production sale, and we thank the Brumley family for inviting us to participate. We think we have a strong group of heifers to offer for sale, out of proven donor cows and sired by some of the top bulls in the industry – Cracker Jack, 88X, 10Y, and Stockman. The bred heifer (A18) out of the Jensen 947W cow and the heifer calf (C15) out of the Flirt daughter Mae catch everyone’s eye when they visit the pasture. All the heifers are very eye appealing and are destined to be top flight mother cows. We became Hereford breeders relatively late in life. We were professors at the University of Oregon but we became interested in purchasing rural property. The particular piece of land that caught our eye came with the stricture that we run a cattle herd if we were going to build a home on the site. Neither Karen nor I had any experience with cattle but we decided to embrace the adventure and have run the ranch for 18 years now. It has been quite a learning experience … and a lot of fun, too. Our university colleagues are a little mystified about what we’re doing, but we have no second thoughts and thoroughly enjoy the life we’ve chosen.
