«UNCHAINED SINCE 2008» DE
«UNCHAINED SINCE 2008» EINSTOFFEN ist ein unabhängiger Optik- und Mode-Brand, gegründet von vier Freunden aus der Schweiz. Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit waren uns sehr wichtig, als wir den Brand 2008 gründeten. Das soll auch weiterhin so bleiben und so entstand der Name der aktuellen Kollektion «UNCHAINED»: frei, leicht, eigenständig. Wir hatten damals keine Lust auf eine vorhersehbare Karriere im Hamsterrad. Wir wollten einzigartige Produkte entwickeln. Und wir suchten das Abenteuer. Also legten wir unser Geld zusammen und gründeten ein Label. Von Natur, Kunst, Film und Musik inspiriert, kombinieren wir seither Dinge, die wir lieben. Selbst wenn dafür einige Grenzen überbrückt oder eingerissen werden müssen. In unseren Augen passen Eyewear und Streetwear, Natur und Urbanität, Schweizer Qualitätsbewusstsein und eine Prise Extravaganz sehr gut zusammen - und falls das nicht Jedem entsprechen sollte: ein paar Schritte abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade fühlen wir uns eigentlich ganz wohl. Unsere Leidenschaft gehört handgemachten Frames aus natürlichen Materialien wie Holz oder Stein. Sie bilden die Hauptbestandteile des organischen EINSTOFFEN-Looks. Doch «UNCHAINED» heißt auch: wir lassen uns nicht gerne einzwängen. Stärker als über die Materialien definieren wir uns über die Lust an Experimenten und Kombinationen. Denn erst durch die Begegnung mit dem Fremden wird Neues und Ungewöhnliches erschaffen. So finden sich in der neuen Kollektion auch acht Modelle aus Titan wieder und wir bringen neue, originelle Ideen wie matt verspiegelte Clipper oder Mikro-Gravuren in die Designs ein. Weltoffenheit, Innovation, Qualität, Nachhaltigkeit und Fairness im Umgang mit Produzenten, Kunden und Geschäftspartnern sind uns wichtig. Wir verbürgen uns für die Qualität unserer Produkte und vergewissern uns regelmäßig selber, dass sie unter fairen Arbeitsbedingungen hergestellt werden.
EINSTOFFEN is an independent eyewear and fashion brand founded by four friends from Switzerland. Since our humble beginnings in 2008, independence and freedom were very important values to us. And we would like to keep it that way. Hence the collection’s name «UNCHAINED»: free, light, independent. Back then, we had no desire for a predictable career in the hamster wheel. We wanted to develop unique products. And we were looking for adventure. So we put our money together and founded a label. Inspired by nature, art, film and music, we have been combining things we love ever since. Of course, that required us to bridge some gaps and to tear down some walls but in our eyes, eyewear and streetwear, nature and urbanity, Swiss quality awareness and a pinch of extravagance go together very well - and even if that doesn’t suit everyone: a few steps off the beaten track still feels like home to us. Our passion belongs to handmade frames manufactured from natural materials such as wood or stone. They are the main components of that organic EINSTOFFEN-look. But “UNCHAINED” also means: we don’t like to feel boxed in or tied down. The desire to experiment and combine defines us in a much stronger way than the preference for certain materials. Only by encountering things strange and foreign can we create new and unusual products. Thus, the new collection also features eight frames made from titanium and we added new, original ideas such as matt-mirrored clippers or micro-engravings into our designs. Cosmopolitanism, innovation, quality, sustainability and fairness in dealing with producers, customers and business partners are important to us. We guarantee the quality of our products and regularly ensure that they are produced under fair working conditions. In 2018 and 2019, our frames were able to win a total of four German Design Awards.

Der Fluglotse ist der kleinere Zwilling des Modells «Funker» und teilt mit diesem die klassische Pilotenform und den charakteristischen «Überrollbügel». In punkto Material lässt man in der Aviatik selbstverständlich Nichts anbrennen, deshalb ist der Fluglotse komplett aus widerstandsfähigem Titan gebaut. Der muß schließlich was aushalten in seinem Job!

The Fluglotse («air traffic controller») is the smaller twin of the model Funker («radioman») and shares the model’s classic pilot shape and also its characteristic «rollover bar». As far as material is concerned, the frame is made entirely of durable titanium, which is probably a smart idea considering the importance of resilience in aviation. After all, the Fluglotse has to put up with quite a lot in his demanding job!

Der kleine Bruder des «Hafners». Bei EINSTOFFEN gibt es bereits den Winzer, den Brennmeister und den Sommelier. Die Behauptung, dass wir Berufe, die sich mit der Herstellung edler Alkoholika beschäftigen, irgendwie romantisch finden, könnte bei näherem Hinsehen tatsächlich zutreffen.. Das Imposanteste an der Weinherstellung sind allerdings die riesigen Holzfässer, in denen der Tropfen reift. Und da diese Fässer, genau wie die Brille hier, aus edlem Holz bestehen, welches mit Ringen aus Metall umspannt ist, hat sich der Name Küfer fast von selbst ergeben.

The Hafner’s little brother. EINSTOFFEN already features specs called Winzer («winegrower»), Brennmeister («master distiller») and Sommelier. To claim that we deem professions that deal with the production of alcoholic beverages somehow romantic might actually contain a grain of truth. Nevertheless, the most impressive things about all these processes like distilling or wine making are the huge wooden barrels in which the mixture ferments. And since these barrels, just like the glasses, are constructed from wood which is held in place by rings of metal, the Küfer («Cooper») practically named itself.

Wenn Du eine kleinere Version des Modells Silberschmied suchst, ist der Kupferschmied genau das Richtige für Dich. Er teilt die Liebe zum Detail, welche das größere Modell auszeichnet, so gibt es auch hier bei der Holzversion den goldenen Ring im Innern des Rahmens oder die unterschiedlich polierten Front- und Rückseiten bei der Acetat-Brille. Dennoch ist der Kupferschmied noch etwas subtiler und filigraner. Falls Dir Sonnenbrillen oft zu groß sind: dieses Design könnte passen.

Der Piz Nair heisst zwar «Schwarzer Gipfel», ist aber nicht so schwarz, wie die Uhr es vermuten lassen würde. Als Hausberg von St. Moritz ist er fast dauernd von Schnee überzogen. Das schmälert unseren Enthusiasmus aber nicht im Geringsten, denn der Piz Nair ist einer der wenigen Schweizer Berge, auf dem je olympische Skirennen ausgetragen wurden. Da könnte man eigentlich gleich die Stoppuhr-Funktion testen gehen...

«Piz Nair» is Romansh for «Black Peak». However, the actual mountain is not as black as the color of the watch would suggest. As the backyard mountain of St. Moritz, it’s almost permanently covered with snow. That doesn’t diminish our enthusiasm in the least though, because the Piz Nair is one of the few Swiss mountains to have ever hosted an Olympic ski race. You could go and test the stopwatch function there right away...

Der «Kamor» ist ein markanter Gipfel im Alpstein. Der Name kommt aus dem Romanischen: ganda mora, schwarze Gand (Fels) und stammt von der düsteren, steilen Felswand, die vom Gipfel abfällt. Das charakteristische schwarz-graue Farbmuster der Uhr und des Armbands passt denn auch zu dieser rohen Seite des Berges, während der goldene Rand eher für die Anmut des den Berg umgebenden Appenzells steht.

The «Kamor» is one of the most distinctive peaks in the Alpstein mountains. The name originates from Romansh: ganda mora - «black rock» and refers to the steep and gloomy cliff that falls underneath the summit. We’ve designed the Kamor to that same style. The characteristic grey-black color pattern of the dial and bracelet of the watch symbolize the raw side of this mountain, while the golden rim is more in keeping with the grace of the Appenzell region surrounding the peak. Named after the only freely accessible copper mine in Switzerland, the «Zinal» breathes the spirit of traditional mining like nothing else. It features bright copper tones and a circular brushed dial, and the matte case’s ring evokes a shining vein of ore in dark rock. Look at it in a quiet moment. You can almost feel the pounding of the mallets in the Val d’Anniviers.
