VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Gamma Phi Beta volunteers are valuable supporters who devote their time, energy, experience and expertise to the Sorority. The benefits our Sorority and collegians receive from our strong core of alumnae volunteers are immeasurable. With opportunities to fit your personal skill set and availability- there is a way for each member to give back to Gamma Phi Beta to ensure a strong future for the organization!
BELONGING, EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION (BEDI)
In December 2019, Gamma Phi Beta’s International Council (IC) established a Belonging and Inclusion Task Force (BITF) to recommend a strategy to increase member’s competency and Sorority practices related to diversity, belonging and inclusion. A recommendations report was submitted to IC and reviewed several times during the 2019-20 academic year. International Council accepted the recommendations and chartered a Belonging and Inclusion Committee to immediately address the recommendations of the BITF.
Alumna Initiate Overview
Gamma Phi Beta welcomes into membership qualified women who:
• May have never attended college
• Attended a college or university without a fraternity/sorority community
• Attended a college or university with a fraternity/sorority community, but never became an initiated member of a National Panhellenic Conference sorority.
Our program provides members the opportunity to invite outstanding women to share in the pride of becoming a Gamma Phi Beta.
Alumnae initiates are typically supportive, active and enthusiastic members. These women will enjoy new friendships, involvements and opportunities and will make worthwhile contributions to the Sorority. This program offers mutual opportunities for both the alumnae chapter and the alumnae initiates.
Alumna Initiate Support
Gamma Phi Beta believes in providing support and resources to ensure the success of our chapters. Alumnae chapters are group of members from various collegiate chapters and alumnae initiates who join to celebrate their shard sisterhood and build connections where they live. Throughout the alumna initiate journey, there will be volunteer members to assist in every step of the process. The Gamma Phi Beta Alumna Initiate Volunteer Team is designed to help initiates navigate the program and answer any questions

All members of Gamma Phi Beta are expected to remain in good standing with the organization through fulfilling their annual dues. There are two ways for alumnae members to fulfill annual dues requirements.
• Alumnae Dues: Alumnae members can pay their annual international alumnae dues ($25 per person) directly to Interntional Headquarters or through their local alumnae chapter.
• Life Loyal: Life Loyal is a special program available for all Gamma Phi Beta members to continue their lifelong support of our beloved Sorority while receiving exclusive benefits. By making a one-time payment, you are fulfilling your international alumnae dues obligation for life.
Philosophy for Alumnae Engagement
Alumnae engagement is a reciprocal and beneficial relationship between the Sorority and its members. The Sorority works to provide activities and services to keep that members’ experiences relevant and remembered, and the member keeps her personal experience with Gamma Phi Beta likewise relevant through active participating and encouragement of others to do the same.
Alumnae engagement connects alumnae members to the Sorority. Membership in Gamma Phi Beta is a lifetime experience. Alumnae engagement experiences should create affinity to Gamma Phi Beta and encourage members to commit both their time, talents and treasure to the advancement of the Sorority.
Alumnae engagement connects alumnae members to one another. When members are initiated, they promise to be True and Constant friends. Alumnae engagement experiences should be designed to encourage relationship-building and sisterhood among members.
Alumnae engagement connects alumnae members in many meaningful forms. Membership in Gamma Phi Beta should enrich every member’s life. Gamma Phi Beta recognizes this can be achieved in various formats and encourages participating in ways that matter to individuals and groups of members, so long as a connection to the Sorority remains.
