Goalkeeping technique Where does GK set position? How many Goalkeeping techniques are there? If you think GK just stands in front of goal, that is wrong idea! The reason why GKs must make sure where they are in between the goal and the ball is to cover the goal. It sounds easy but actually a lot of GKs make mistakes for it.

Set position is aboslutely crucial for any GK. When GKs set wrong the GKs let score with high percentage. But even If GK set position right they sometimes let score because of wrong goal keeping techniques. confident that thier goalkeeper has the ability to retain possession of the ball when used in building attacking moves.
3 goalkeeping techniques - Sccop - Catch the ball with the technique when the ball is on the ground - Cup - allow the ball in your body and then bring your shoulders down to secure the ball when the ball is at waist height - W - When the ball is coming at above your chest make your hands W shape and arms out and slightly bend elbows to catch the ball after that secure the ball in your body. GK must understand set position and above techniques.
