“It’s been an exciting and educational year. We were able to implement a number of things, including the monthly conference, two trips to the U.S. with coach training, the first Residential Cup in Maine, the expansion of the ID program, and the first FCB Tour in Munich with two GPS teams.” KEY EVENTS 2015 JANUARY Affiliate program launched at NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia. APRIL First ID programs launched in 11 States targeting U11 and U12 Boys and Girls. MAY 9 Inner-City players GPS players travel to Munich to participate in FC Bayern Youth Cup. JUNE FC Bayern Coaches visit South Carolina and Maine First ever FC Bayern Residential Camp held for top players identified from ID Program. JULY Top ID Players, Blake Pope and Samy Kolby identified at Residential camp, travel to Munich and train with FC Bayern U12 team. Female players Olivia White and Bella Roppolo travel in August to work with female coaches. AUGUST 35 players travel to Munich as part of the first ever FC Bayern tour. Players train with FC Bayern coaches and play against FC Bayern teams as well as attending the Audi Cup at the Allianz Arena. NOVEMBER Second Technical visit takes place with 18 Directors of Coaching from GPS and affiliate clubs visiting Saebner Strasse and taking part in workshops with FC Bayern coaching staff. DECEMBER FC Bayern coaches return to US to evaluate ID players and provide coach education in Florida, New Jersey and California.

In November of 2014, FC Bayern Munich and Global Premier Soccer (GPS) announced an extensive partnership that will bring the knowledge and experience of FC Bayern’s famed Youth Academy to the United States. The grassroots initiative was a major step in FC Bayern’s commitment to engage the wider US soccer community. As part of the partnership, FC Bayern makes available to GPS its youth development knowledge, including its coaches, curriculum, official uniforms and the principles and culture that guide its world-renowned academy.

The cooperation is an ongoing mutual exchange of knowledge with GPS officials traveling to Munich to observe and study FC Bayern’s Youth Academy and FCB coaches visiting GPS’s facilities and teams with the aim of improving and aligning coaching methods.
