Proposed Hong Kong International Airport Park Purpose: To raise the awareness to get close to the nature and provide comfortable area especially for flight delay and long transit passengers • Site: Connecting area near Gate 36 as there is a spacious area available for Park design Current Site: •

There are some greenery areas in the Hong Kong International Airport and the flowers mostly used are Eustoma, Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana and Anthurium.

More different kinds of flowers are suggested to be used in the Airport Park.

Seating Area: Round shape seating area: • Wood will be the material used for the seating area.

• A big tree in the middle of the seating area surrounded by a smaller round shape • The middle part also serve as a seat back for people to lay back and relax • Battery Charging device is installed around the seating area • People do not need to leave their electronic devices at the battery charging area • Just to push the part and it will pop-up and store it back afterward to avoid affecting the outlook of the design • There is a path connecting two round seat zones, plants and flowers will be planted at the path to create the garden design Window facing seat: • Priority seats will be assigned in this part, seats here should be equipped with footrest Flower Corner Sitting area: • Flower corner in between two seating area • Larger variety of flowers should be used for flower corner’s design • For example, use of plunged hydrangea(green), Butterfly weed, Ranunculas (Red) to match with Daisy, Thlaspi, Lady’s Mantle, Pittosporum and Pieris Japonica to create a garden next to the seating area • Can invite students from flower arrangement school to submit their design for this part

The selected site is less crowded and more spacious where is suitable for building kid’s playground Kid’s library and Audio session will be set up there Updated Kid’s learning materials Soft-protective floor matt should be used to avoid injury Two sphere shape seats and two green color carpet are next to the playground Both are to match the design of the playground for kids Parents can sit nearby to look after their children and relax in the greenery zone at the same time
