The Future of Dwelling based on Today Dwelling : a shelter (such as a house) in which people live. The future of dwelling has been affected with lots of things. In short, for complex economic, social, and cultural reasons, what constitutes “normal” housing in the world is changing. Cultures may also play a role in this evolution. Based on today's changes, their activities and productivities now mostly came from our own houses. People are trying to be resilient with the space they have. In other words, the way we choose to house ourselves reflects the things we value and the ideas we see as progressive. For the last century or so, those values have been independence, privacy, and individuality. Most people face a twin challenge: First, the increasing expense of homeownership and retirement. Second, the uncertainty of an economy and climate in flux. There are lots of innovation approaches that affect housing today such as, materials, living spaces, technology development and self-sustaining housing. Nowadays, houses are becoming self-sustaining, they only need a compact basic need such as a bedroom, working space, bathroom and service room. With the new trend about saving the world etc, people are becoming self-aware with their environment. It’s not just the population that’s growing: it’s also food and energy consumption. Understanding the steps required to ensure families can live in an era of self-sustenance is essential for the future. There are various ideas on how houses can be made to benefit the ecosystem, including: Builtin water collection and filtration; Passive heat and heated spaces for winter; Intelligent kitchens to aid with food and nutrition; Natural ventilation; Built in solar-energy; Extendable and demountable spaces; Attached greenhouses for organic food production. Although these are just a few ideas of upgrades that can be made in homes of the future, there also needs to be a balance in considering the costs involved. Millions will have to be spent on R&D and governmental/environmental approvals, which may further delay the implementation of such ideas. The costs of building such homes may also be much more than current costs, which may end up being passed on to the consumer. So, we must consider
whether these more sustainable homes will be available to the general public – or only affordable for those with deeper pockets. Land use is also becoming one of the issues that affects the shapes and needs of the living spaces. In general people used to have landed houses, yet most people live relatively either in smaller houses or apartments. Urban development is also shifting and adjusting with human needs. Down-town becoming the center of activities such as offices and shopping centers. Less housing in down-town areas, and the housing that is available there mostly are vertical housing which can accommodate a huge chunk of the population in relatively smaller land needs. Due to this pandemic, it shows that lots of spaces change their functions. Less activities in down-town area and more in their own home. Work becomes a mobile, less crowded area and also there are lots of changes for their routines. This gives a huge impact on evolutions of dwelling. The main reasons of every changers are the users, humans. Architecture always builds based on human need and how to sustain with the changes that keep going on in this world. It functions as a living facility for human needs, a safe place for us to rest and do other activities. Usually we call it our home. In architecture development of dwelling has changed accordingly with the human needs, where we can find a lot of different shapes and sizes of dwelling itself. The main factors are humans and only humans that have the ability to be resilient to the effects that are also made by ourselves. The 1 illustration talked about what dwelling shapes and materials dwell in the architecture st
world. It describes the evolution of dwelling since the beginning of the time. Having so many changes from function depending on humans and shapes evolving with the needs of the users. It is certain there are lots of aspects that are involved with the changes. Though the illustrations are showing the process of dwelling. Giving the idea of what are the aspects that play a role in human adaptations. Giving the idea about the influences which affected humans by lifestyle, evolution, revolution, technology, behavior and materials. Those factors don’t influence directly towards the architecture. However, it affects the most crucial part of architecture, which is the users themselves. Architecture development towards dwelling Sustainability is one of the goals that people seek for from this dwelling. Part of the effects of the climate changes. The goal of us as a human is always to survive. What makes us different from other types of living things in this world is we are able to adapt with the changes. Human itself is the one who makes the changes with what has been going on in this world. The shapes and functions of dwelling shifting from forms follows functions towards functions follows form, according to the users which is human and their activities. Nowadays, our routine is becoming more mobile then it used to be, equal to less fixed and more flexible spaces will be needed. Also with the revolution industries that have been changing and kept changing towards future development. Each of us have a different approach towards the concept of dwelling itself. Where some of us started from the causes and effects of it, some of us choose to understand dwelling from
the existence of it. Changes that keep happening in the world have the influence on each other in their own way. We can see that from the shapes of our home here and in the other country, all the typical forms of the houses and apartments are almost the same. Most of the cities have the same concept where downtown will be fully with central activities and where the suburbs are where most landed houses are. Adaptation through recoveries and changes of events may affect the architecture based on our needs. Changes that happen not always physically and mostly through things that we can’t directly see. It creates and shapes our lifestyle that becomes the habit of human nature. It shows in all of the illustrations, how the dwelling became in today's world. It has merged with technology, activities and spaces according to our needs.

Synthesis Analysis We all have been wondering what the future of dwelling looks like. With a lot that has been going on in this world from Covid-19 pandemic until human rights with all of the discrimination and racism. The changes that have been going on here always affected us and we ourselves who shapes the way it is now. Revolution industry and technology may be the factors that affect the world to change and it is because of human behavior as well. This situation (covid-19 pandemic) helped the industry 4.0 develop faster that it should be. The concept of dwelling has changed a lot since the beginning of human life. The functions and forms of the housing itself. It started when humans only needed some shelter for surviving that became a permanent place for their living space and now we all have different types of space that we call as “home. People used to have a larger space for their home because they all have to survive with farming. Living hand to hand and socialize to help each other. When there were no such things as technology like today. Fast forwards, the world starting to progress faster and faster until what we have today. Nowadays, we are living in a crowded place where we can find a lot of what we need in a touch of a screen. There is only limited space for humans to live on this earth and yet, there are too many of us. It started to grow vertically over a decade ago. Where downtown used to be filled with only a center of attraction and now it is full of everything that we can imagine. Humans play a huge role in dwelling development itself. We are the user and the creator of this scenario. A lot of us have not realized how much we are affected by changes. There are lots of changes to our needs based on our behavior and habits. Starting with our basic needs to live such as how much space each of us need for life, and yet this earth itself only has a limited amount of resources left. The faith of our lives is in our own hand, how we are able to be resilient and sustainable with what we have now. With this pandemic, without our realization, we all are forced to understand and keep up with the technology era. Revolution industries that have been going on for a long time and lots of cycles show us it affected the architecture itself. When now it has reached the 4.0 era, where technology plays a huge role in human life. It affects every angle of perspective and every second of life.
Whether we realize it or not, it just started a little over 10 years ago when the high-tech strategy of the German government, which promotes the computerization of manufacturing. The term "Industries 4.0" was publicly introduced in the same year at the Hannover Fair. It is safe to say that this industry 4.0 has not ended yet and no way near finish. Although it hasn’t finished, the next revolution industry has already begun with their own concept. Industry 5.0 is the revolution in which man and machine reconcile and find ways to work together to improve the means and efficiency of production. The greatest advances predicted by Industry 5.0 involve the interaction of human intelligence and cognitive computing. Now living in the time where there is a very fast development in the technology world, and it has become a part of our lives. Where we all can feel and see how fast the changes. Let's take an example, our phone where in early 20’s a cell phone is a very prestigious item that only can be owned for high class people. Where a hand phone with a camera was a very new and the quality of it was very bad. Today, almost every one of us owns a smartphone who has the same camera quality as a DSLR camera that has been there over a century ago. Within 10 years of development we can see how huge an improvement in a small part of technology where everyone fights for their life to earn one. We are living in an era where we can find and control everything from our small piece of technology that we can carry everywhere we go. This is affected with our mobility and spaces we need to do our activities. It is clear to say that it all depends on us. Dwelling itself is part of our life where we interplay with the users which is us. Within 10 years from now we can assume that the development will be made twice greater than we have now, or faster than we are expected. all the research and changes from our past will be improved for our future and take place both in smaller or bigger parts of our lives. The future for dwelling affected with technology and their user behavior as well. It shapes the function and needs of the spaces, materials and every single aspect of the architecture itself. Out of all the living creatures, humans are the only one who is smart enough to adapt and control how far this will go.
