ABOUT US
Grace & Able is a jewellery and accessories social enterprise based on the Mornington Peninsula, just outside of Melbourne, Australia. Our aim is to equip and empower its artisans through economic opportunity. Established in 2014, we work with artisans in devloping countires to create one of kind pieces that can’t be found elsewhere. Accessories are the chosen platform Grace & Able uses to advocate, and we do love colour and design, but it’s not why we do what we do. It is truly about the artisans, creating opportunity for them to have a brighter, fairer future. We provide development training to our artisans as they partner with us, equipping them with skills and knowledge to truly carve sustainable paths out of poverty for themselves.
Uganda EDEN COLLECTION
Our beads are handmade from paper in Uganda. Each bead starts of as printed colour on recycled magazine paper. Our artisans then slice each paper into strips and hand roll each strip into beads, which varies acording to size, shape and deisgn. From there beads are varnished and dried, several times over a few days to ensure they are durable and water resistant. Once dry, they are threaded into our beautiful designs .

EDEN COLLECTION Freedom is a condition in which people have the opportunity to speak, act and pursue happiness without unnecessary external restrictions. Freedom is important because it leads to enhanced expressions of creativity and original thought, increased productivity, and an overall higher quality of life .

Our artisan partnerships celebrate creativity, allowing them not only a form of self-expression but a freeing way to use thier own circumstances and views to enhance the world. Economic oppotunity combined with creativity offers an empowering and hope filled future where they can truly thrive.

Kenya Our collection from Kenya features repurposed brass. Our artisans take old and broken brass items, such as old taps, locks, etc, and melt them down before pouring into sand castings. Each piece is then shaped, polished and finished by hand.

Our artisans are not only business partners but a close knit community. We enable them to care for one another, as well as their families, through development training projects, such as financial planning and health and wellbeing education.
EDEN COLLECTION
Handmade Pieces On a freshly swept concrete floor, in a small village on the edge of Lake Victoria, in the midday heat of Africa, men and women gather and sit, waiting to hear from the visting speaker. With their manager as translator, a discussion begins on how the partnership will work and what designs, colour combinations and finishes will be the best. It is from this simple meeting several years ago with our founder, Emma Woodcock and our first artisans partners in Uganda, that these designs were born. Over the years together we have refined and developed our ideas, and now we are so pleased to introduce to your our latest work - The Eden Collection .

Thank you Grace & Able is a long-held dream of mine. I grew up witnessing my family serve others in difficult circumstances. Through this, I came to realise that one of the most powerful ways we can help one another is to believe in each other. A person enabled to achieve through his or her own skills, is not only empowered but is far more likely to pay if forward into their communities because of a positive self-esteem. Your purchases are making the dream of a purposeful, world changing business a reality. Every purchase generates more that we can do through Grace & Able – sustainable incomes, re-orders, development projects, training, education, microfinance investments, etc. Without your continued support Grace & Able would simply not be and we could not reach those who need it most. So, thank you! And long may our partnership to end poverty and see each other thrive continue!
