STEELCASE NEXT Location: Midtown Atlanta, Georgia Client: NEXT Technology and Wellness Scope: Design an office space for a wellness technology company with pandemic planning principles in place. Recognition: Design 2021
CONCEPT NEXT is a technology company that promotes health and wellness to improve happiness globally. Midtown Atlanta is considered the heart of the city. Atlanta is an energetic, up and coming city. In order to capture the dynamic, energetic vibe of the city, we will be using bright accent colors, murals of the city, and custom lighting fixtures. An important design driver is keeping connections, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Brene Brown defines a connection as, “The energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued.” These ideas are incorporated throughout the design. Feeling seen, heard, and valued also is important to the wellbeing of employees, thus affecting the success of the company.

HURRICANE SHELTER Arch Out Loud Design Competition Location: Miami, FL Client: Family of three Scope: Design within a 750 ft2 hurricane shelter Designed With: Reegan Franzmeier
Connecting decks between minimal homes provide a sense of community and contributes to the wellbeing and safety of the residents.
CONCEPT STATEMENT The aim of this project is to design the home of the future within Deltec’s minimal home structure for a family of three living in acoastal region. The design will provide the necessities to remain safe and comfortable during hurricanes, while lowering stress through a multiuse environment that celebrates the small footprint of the structure and maximizes coastal views. A selection of environmentally sustainable materials will transform the experience of living in the home by radiating a sense of calmness that elicits the feeling of living in a vacation villa.
A gas-powered stove and grill serve as the focal point of the kitchen and living space and can remain operable during the period following a hurricane in which access to electricity and utilities is limited.
A hydroponic system introduces biophilia to the interior and serves as a way for residents to grow their own food.
A loft in the parent’s bedroom provides spectacular views through clerestory windows and allows for the rest of the room to be used as a study during daytime hours.
A sliding climbing wall transforms the child’s bedroom into an adventurous play area during daytime hours but can easily be returned to the ceiling to provide ample space for other activities and during bedtime hours.

ot Hotel Location: New York City (Garment District) Client: Hotel Owners Scope: Design a boutique hotel with restaurant and spa
CONCEPT RESEARCH
CONCEPT STATEMENT
New York Fashion Week being held in Bryant Park changed the city’s reputation in fashion. Bryant Park was nicknamed “the backyard of the Garment District.” Big brand designers would show here and some were based in the Garment District making the location of the shows very convenient. While the shows are now held elsewhere, Fashion Week in the tents was a key point in the Garment District’s history.
To create a luxurious experience for the consumer while paying homage to the history of the fashion industry advancements that happened in the Garment District, Ot hotel will abstract the runway to create a “couture” experience. The design will abstract the runway using lines and will emphasize movement as a runway show does.
