Going the Distance
Monthly Message Hey Division Three South! Hope you had an awesome August. I know I did! The title of this issue is "Summer Sunset." You may be wondering why. Well, the sun is setting on our summer. The end of summer is approaching and, for the most part, kids across our District are already in school.
Highlights of Issue 4 Monthly Message - Page 1
However, that doesn't mean we have to be sad (although we may feel the urge to). The end of one chapter is always the beginning of another. So, even though this summer didn't go the way most of us planned, we can look forward to serving with Key Club throughout the year and, hopefully, attending the Convention at the end of the year.

That being said, this will most likely be my last summerthemed newsletter. So, expect to see some changes next month. Again, that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing, just a new one. In conclusion, going into this year, try to keep an open mind. Just because something is new, uncertain, or unexpected doesn't mean it's bad: just different. Stay safe!
Good luck with school! - Graciela

KEEPING UP WITH K-FAM Kiwanis Coloring Book Project #2 The Kiwanis Membership Team is working on putting together a book on Heroes to be distributed to Elementary Students. It is a chance for students to think about the heroes during this pandemic and to also draw who their hero is for a surprise. I am reaching out to you all as I used some of your drawings in the first coloring book. We would really like to submit this book to Kiwanis Children's Fund for a grant but first, it has to be finished. I would like to ask that you consider submitting one of these pictures. This is all we have left to finish!! Remember these are for 3rd grade and below so big pictures and easy to color. Please send it directly to susan.hennum@hotmail.com. Website Club Info Form At my DCM, I showed the attendees a part of the divisional website that hasn't been completed yet. You can view that section is called, "Get to Know The Clubs in Our Division." In essence, the section would serve as a hub for inter-club collaboration. The section will have one email/contact for each club and a picture.
Top Tips for this Section My hope is that, this way, club officers will be able to contact each other for any cooperative service projects they may want to work on. I'll be sending out a google form to collect this information some time soon. I'll aim to update the site with this information by the end of the month as well.

Since the 1940s, Key Clubs have worked with March of Dimes to make a positive impact in the lives of babies everywhere. Today, Kiwanis members continue that culture of service by supporting the March of Dimes all year long by hosting service projects, raising funds and educating communities about the crisis of preterm birth.
