The title of this issue is "The Feel of February." You may be wondering why. Well, I was thinking about how this month was second of 2021. We all came into the year hoping for something better than last year, but were slammed with work and winter weather. However, I wanted to encourage you to remain positive; February is a tough month for me every year, but there's some great holidays to celebrate in it too. Hang in there!

There's only two more months left of our term and three more of our school year. Fight burnout by remembering all the difficulties you've already overcome and celebrating the holidays. Keep serving, keep caring, keep planning, and keep going! Stay dedicated as student volunteers and people.

2020 was hard for everyone, but this is it: our school year coming to an end. I just wanted to let y'all know that you've done a great job so far, but stay hungry!

MAJOR EMPHASIS

The Thirst Project Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to END the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water. Why Water? By providing a community with safe drinking water, disease rates can drop by up to 88% virtually overnight! Child mortality rates can drop up to 90%- overnight!

SERVICE PARTNERS

Members work together by sponsoring fundraising events and conducting service projects at their local children's hospitals. Contact your local CMN hospital and invite a representative to a club meeting to share ideas and create a partnership.

Since the 1940s, Key Clubs have worked with March of Dimes to make a positive impact in the lives of babies everywhere. Today, Kiwanis members continue that culture of service by supporting the March of Dimes all year long by hosting service projects, raising funds and educating communities about the crisis of preterm birth.

UNICEF is the only organization of the United Nations dedicated exclusively to children.

Working with other United Nations bodies, governments and nongovernmental organizations, UNICEF helps to provide for children’s needs in more than 150 developing countries through community-based services in primary health care, basic education and safe water and sanitation.
