This book is dedicated to my Mom for forcing me go to Clint’s house.
Have you ever not wanted to do something you locked yourself up in a room? Well that is how I started my day on Monday July 15 2009. “Mom I do not wanna go to Clint’s house,” I whined. “Come out” forced mom. Suddenly I heard footsteps coming up the stair, I leaped for the key to my room and locked it,” “Max open the door!” my Mom insisted “No,” I argued. “You asked for this,” my mom announced as she opened the door with a random key. This was the day I found out that me and David my brother have the same key, but that is another story. As mom pulled me out of the room, there was not more discussion, I was going to Clint’s. I had a lot of friends, but Clint was not one of them. Clint’s parents were good friends with mine, they often went out eating together which concluded that we often saw each other. This would make people think that we there BFF’s this was not the case with me and Clint. I thought Clint was a stupid, little, ugly boy. Clint perspective was totally different about me, Clint always pleading to have a playdate with me every single weekend. “Hey!” Clint exclaimed glancing from up the staircase. “Hey Clint,” I said without enthusiasm. I put down my bag and slowly slid up to where Clint was standing. “So what do you wanna do,” I said firing the question towards him. “ How about ….......Blah Blah” Can’t he come up with a good idea? I should have stayed home I knew this would happen. “WWWWait!” I pointed out. “That is a great idea, although I have to ask, you do you have any ingredients for s'mores?” “Yup, just put on your shoes and let’s go.” As I reached for the doorknob I remembered that it had just been raining ”Heuston we have a problem,” I whispered under my breath.. A cold breeze of air hit me as I walked around the garden. Sautering, towards my destination I kept on jumping over all the puddles that came my way. I finally made it to the fireplace, as I sat down I saw Clint approach. We sat down on the wooden benches as something started falling on our heads. “Auch” we muttered as a block of hail fell on us followed by a few smaller ones. “Let’s head for the structure at the playground. I climbed up using the wiggly balance beam , and Clint used the ladder. We sat under the microscopic roof eating marshmallows with crackers. My nose suddenly caught a scent of wet dirty fur. “Woof Woof Woof,” I looked around waiting for my eyesight to catch a dog. “Look, it’s Shadow” said Clint pointing
down at the dog that was sitting right under us. We stared at the dog and the dog stared at the marsh mellows. “Those stupid kids are not giving me the marshmallows I guess I am going to have to get them myself”. The brown labrador walked around the little playground looking for a way to get up. Then he finally made up his mind, shadow started crawling under the wiggly balance beam and on a few wooden planks. The dog like crawled a soldier on a dangerous battlefield. Finally the dog came to a stop, but it was not because it had reached the top. It could not even budge, shadow was hollering for help. “What do we do shadow is stuck” I stated “I guess we try to get him out,” answered Clint I made the first move, trying to pull him all the way to the top grabbing him by the front paws” “yuck” I squealed as I touched the muddy Dog. “Stop Max you can pull out the dogs paws if you keep on pulling this hard” Clint announced. “Okay so what do we have to do to get the dog out” I said as the rain slowly disappeared. I hopped of the tower letting the dog go. “Max we have bad news we will have to get dirty.... really dirty. Clint Slid under the the balance beam getting his t-shirt in dark dense mood. Clint grabbed the dog around it’s waist and tried to slide it down with him. “NO NO NO” The rain is regaining it’s power how is this even possible thought. I climbed into tower ,watching Clint suffer in the cold rain. Ten minutes later clint was still struggling I could not stand it anymore. I jumped down for the rescue. I angled myself and started crawling. BANG clint and shadow fell right on top of me. “Ouch I said as I rolled on the damp cold earth.” “What happened” Clint asked Kneeling above me like he was about to give me CPR. “You kicked me in the face when I was trying to help you, and then Shadow fell on top of me retard.” “Sorry Sorry I really mean it,” Clint whispered. “Let’s get you a Ice pack” Clint took me under the shoulder and led me to the house. We went up to the kitchen, and Clint handed me a pack of frozen peas, but it was already too late my forehead was all swollen. I was mad at Clint I got all dirty, cold and hurt because of him. I slowly walked towards the shower like there was no point of life. After I came out of a steamy bathroom I took a little rest and asked Clint for a pair of clean cloths. Sitting on the couch I tried to imagine if there could ever be a worse sleep over then this one. I shut my eye’s and fell into a wild world of dreams. As I was getting to the good part I felt some trying to wake me up. It was clint all clean, “I was thinking of what we could do right now” said clint snapping his knuckles. “Well we can make a big fort in my mom's bedroom and then make a rubber band fight”. He continued. I analyzed this situation for a second. I could have left the house by taking a cell phone and calling my mom, and I would have missed all of this, “Okej let’s do it” I told Clint. We hustled over to the kings size bedroom, and got our lazy butts to work. We first took the Pillows of the couch and build a strong tunnel that led to the back of the bed. “Click” Me and Clint turned our heads to the door knob as it slowly turned What was happening? , In stomped Clints brother. Earl was a nice guy I would even say that I liked him more than Clint. If I took the two brothers I compared them I could not name anything Clint was better at then earl. “Do you want to help us with the base?” I proposed. “Sure” He said and Started building the Fort with us. “Guys the tunnel is not enough we need a big wall to protect our main chamber. We also need side towers that will let us shoot the enemy , the enemy will not be able to shoot us let’s get to work”
explained Earl. As Earl explained all this information I wanted to jump for joy, all those idea’s sounded so interesting. As the fort grew stronger and strong I was slowly forgetting about the incident from this morning. We protected the main chamber with a Big sheet which we got from the bed. We hung the sheet above the bed on two bed lamps. We also used the couch to our advantage by building towers. (I do not remember the rest exactly but I know it was amazing.) After all the hard work, came the fun part we were going to call Earls mom into her own bedroom and fire at her. My position was the left tower it had a tiny crack to shoot from it was perfect. Clint was laying in the tunnel poking his head out of the entrance every time he shot. Earl went to take his Mom. I waited in the tower with a big pile of rubber band on my lap, sweat was rolling down my forehead. Motionless I peered through the hole, the doorknob turned as I set pressure on the rubber band. “Attack guys” Earl yelled as he jumped for Cover. She slowly opened the door in confusion as she got a rubber band strait in the forehead. The fight took a long time, although Clints mom had not chances she did not even get one shot on us. After all the rubber bands were finished it was about 12:00 o’clock. Well people might think that the fun ended there, but we still got to Build our own beds. Clint and I made a Indian hut together, on the other hand Earl did not build anything he just slept in the tunnel. I would recommend that you listen to your parents. Even now I sometimes think about the great time I had at Clint’s house and it is thanks to my parent’s. Of course that is not the only reason, I also put some work into completing the sleep over in a success. I gave Clint a second chance, because of this I had one of the best times in my life. It also strengthened the bonds between me and Clint.

Blurb The was supposed to be a boring sleepover as it was at the begging, unfortunately it started getting worse every single second. “No No No” I complained, The rain is regaining it’s power how is this even possible thought. I climbed into tower ,watching Clint suffer in the cold rain. Ten minutes later Clint was still struggling I could not stand it anymore. I jumped down for the rescue. I angled myself and started crawling. BANG……..
