Principal/CEO Republic Polytechnic

Dear Graduates of 2021, My heartiest congratulations to you on your graduation. 2020 was a challenging year, not only for Singapore but also for the entire world. I am sure many of you did not expect your final year to be impacted by the pandemic – we shifted our classes to Home-Based Learning and some overseas internships were cancelled. On the other hand, 2020 was an opportunity for us to witness your strength, maturity and resilience, which enabled you to complete your studies despite the uncertainties. I am also heartened to hear how some of you showed kindness and compassion to your friends and classmates, who had to serve Stay-Home Notice, by delivering food to their homes, checking on their well-being and encouraging them to stay positive. The pandemic has certainly propelled the speed of digitalisation in many areas, including the way we live and socialise. Businesses have had to exercise creativity and embrace innovation to seek new opportunities. The rigours of Problem-based Learning (PBL) have shaped you into resourceful, analytical and effective communicators and collaborators – and these are skillsets that are highly valued in the workforce. Indeed, the 2020 Polytechnic Graduate Employment Survey (GES) showed that polytechnic graduates continue to be in demand, despite the pandemic situation. As graduates of Republic Polytechnic (RP), you would agree that education here is like no other. Whatever you choose to do next, remember that learning is a lifelong journey. I encourage you to explore the various programmes and courses offered by RP Academy for Continuing Education (RP ACE) and by SkillsFuture. As RP alumni, you may enrol into three courses from the Skills-Based Modular Courses or SkillsFuture Series courses, under the enhanced Alumni Skills Advancement Programme (ASAP), for free. Please seize this opportunity to enhance your skills. I would like to make a special mention and congratulate graduates from RP ACE. It took courage to step up and explore new areas while you juggle work and family commitments. You have successfully completed your programme and I am so proud of you. I am confident that the newly acquired skills and knowledge will help you move ahead and stay relevant in the ever-evolving work environment. Your good example will inspire more adult learners to do the same. You are now new members of the RP Alumni Community. As you embark on the next phase of your life, know that you can be so much more than you think. I urge you to stay connected with the RP family by joining Club Republic and following our social media platforms so that we can continue to celebrate and share your achievements. Please consider yourselves as RP ambassadors and share your positive RP stories with others. I am happy that RP has been part of your transformative journey. On behalf of your lecturers and the RP management team, I wish you the very best in your future endeavours!

SAS OUTSTANDING GRADUATES As graduation draws close, I look back on the meaningful memories we have created and lessons learnt throughout the three years at Republic Polytechnic (RP). Our journey has been like a roller-coaster ride, filled with ups and downs, but we have finally approached the end. Personally, I feel that I have matured as an individual and am very grateful for the opportunities given to me. As the graduate representative for my cohort, I am truly thankful for the support and guidance received during my time at RP. I remember applying to RP, via the EAE programme, for its unique Problembased Learning (PBL) pedagogy. I felt that PBL would allow me to internalise the learning concepts better and provide me with the practical and realistic skills to solving real problems. Indeed, it has made me a more self-directed learner, able to understand intricate theories and solve complex problems. Although it is important to pursue academic excellence, RP also encourages non-academic pursuits. I led a vibrant student life, having been actively involved in the Eureka and Athletics interest groups. The most notable was my time spent as a sub-committee member in the NYAA IG, where I achieved the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) gold award. Through this IG, I had the opportunity to plan a community leadership initiative for the elderly at the Asian Women Welfare Association, and also participated in a wide variety of service-learning events. This not only shaped me into a more compassionate individual, but has also allowed me to grow as a leader and contributing member of society. I am truly grateful to RP for equipping me with the skills and knowledge for navigating the working world. To my mentor, Dr Nicole Liu, for her guidance and advice throughout my journey in RP; the dedicated lecturers who facilitated my learning and provided me with words of encouragement; the great friends I have made along the way; and my family for their continuous support, my heartfelt thanks goes out to all of you.

DIPLOMA IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

SAS OUTSTANDING GRADUATES My three-year journey in Republic Polytechnic (RP) has been challenging but also fulfilling and memorable. It equipped me with vast knowledge of the Marine Science and Aquaculture industry, along with important social skills. At RP, I was introduced to the Problem-based Learning (PBL) pedagogy. This method has taught me the importance of being resourceful and inquisitive, and honed my communication skills. As a student passionate in marine biology, the PBL system helped me apply the concepts to everyday learning. This helped me troubleshoot and come up with plausible solutions to challenges during my internship and FYP. I am confident that this training will continue to benefit me in the future. Interest groups and service-learning opportunities were also a huge part of my life as an RP student. As the vice-president of the Marine Science Interest Group, I was given the opportunity to work with student leaders from RP and other organisations in Singapore to plan student events, such as beach clean-ups. I was also fortunate to have had the opportunity to be involved in many outreach programmes, such as X-PERIMENT 2019. In addition, of my own accord, I volunteered for organisations such as the S.E.A. Aquarium, Singapore, where I was involved in outreach programmes involving marine wildlife biology and conservation. This experience has enabled me to be more confident and empathetic and helped me to build strong interpersonal skills. I appreciate the platform and opportunities given to me for spreading my knowledge and passion within the community. I am eternally grateful for the constant support and guidance from all the lecturers in my diploma, especially my mentor, who helped to prepare me for the industry and future studies upon graduation. It was also with her help that I was able to secure an internship opportunity at A*STAR and co-authored a study to investigate the effects of feed restriction in zebrafish, a popular animal model. The research was published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, an international peer-reviewed, open access scientific journal. To all who have helped me in accomplishing what I have today, I am thankful.

SEG HIGHLIGHTS

Dear SEG’s Graduating Class of 2021, Today marks a new chapter of your life as a graduating polytechnic student. My heartiest congratulations to all of you for reaching this important milestone! You have achieved a lot in the past three years, both in the academic and non-academic areas. Many of you have brought great honour to RP by winning awards and medals in national and international competitions, such as WorldSkills Singapore, the Lee Hsien Loong Interactive Digital Media Smart Nation Award, the SUTD 3D Printing and Design Innovation Challenge 2020, and the International Building Design Competition 2020. You have also participated in service learning projects locally or regionally, serving others in need and learned to not just take but also give. And you did so by applying your engineering knowledge through our Engineering in Community programme. I urge you to continue empathising with others and helping those in need after you leave RP. Besides gaining academic knowledge and technical skills, you have also forged great friendships and built a strong network of contacts. These are important takeaways that will stay with you for a long time to come. COVID-19 is an unprecedented event of our generation and you are graduating amidst an exceptional time. The strong engineering foundation that you have gained will enable you to remain versatile and employable during uncertain times, regardless of which engineering discipline you are trained in. There is no limit to what you can do with the transferrable skills that you have gained during your time in RP. Be innovative and adaptable to consider employment in sectors adjacent to your discipline. Gain the necessary work experience even when the economy is down. Your skills and experience will be in great demand when the economy recovers. As you progress in your career, I urge you to keep learning and bear in mind our motto: “SEG CAN – Confident, Adaptable and Never Give Up!”

MR SOH LAI SENG

On behalf of SEG, I welcome all of you to the RP and SEG alumni family. I wish you success in your future endeavours and look forward to your contributions as our alumni and ambassadors.

SEG OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

My time at Republic Polytechnic (RP) has been awesome, and I am thankful to have met many friends and lecturers along the way. RP’s Problem-based Learning has equipped me with essential soft skills such as leadership, critical thinking and self-reflection. I have applied these skillsets along with an active learning attitude. Entrepreneurial Immersion Programme (EIP) allowed me to go through failing and learning from failure. Working in teams and supported by mentors, I was able to obtain deeper learning. I was awarded two RP scholarships in 2019 and 2020, two module prizes in 2019, and the Director’s Roll of Honour for 2018 to 2020. RP allowed me to learn beyond the lessons. I was appointed as Vice Chairperson for my diploma’s student committee, led events like Essential Communication Skills in 2019 and volunteered for seven Local ServiceLearning Projects (LSLP) from 2018 to 2020. These activities allowed me to give back to the community. Lastly, RP provided the opportunity to display my talents through competitions. In addition to claiming the runner-up title in the 3D Printing and Design Innovation competition 2020 held by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), I have also won second place in the team Pushcart competition 2019 held by RP. I wish everyone in my cohort a blessed and fulfilling future.

SEG OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

At Republic Polytechnic (RP), I was acquainted with passionate lecturers, classmates who became friends, and lab officers, who guided and supported my three-year learning journey. I am honoured to have been awarded the Public Transport Book Prize in 2019, Lee Foundation Scholarship in 2020 and Director’s Roll of Honour for four consecutive semesters. I also had the opportunity to represent RP’s School of Engineering (SEG) in the Rapid Transit Systems (RTS) skills area of WorldSkills Singapore (WSS) 2020, a national-level skills competition, winning RP’s first medal and first Gold in WSS2020 RTS. After class hours, I volunteered to tutor my juniors in A113 Mathematics and E117 Principles of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I also led them to join Local Service-Learning Projects (LSLP) activities. These out-of-classroom involvements have given me an increased sense of personal efficacy. RP’s Problem-based Learning (PBL) encourages critical thinking and develops self-directed learning skills, which are essential to prepare me to take on industry challenges. This learning further triggered my interest in entrepreneurship. My team was awarded the Best Innovation Award 2020 during Entrepreneurial Immersion Programme Bootcamp. I was also part of a joint SEGSHL team that won the third prize in the HDB Cool Ideas Hackathon 2020. I appreciate these valuable opportunities in RP, which have allowed me to discover my potential and achieve my aspirations.

SHL HIGHLIGHTS

Dear Graduates, My heartiest congratulations to each one of you for completing the polytechnic chapter of your academic journey, which culminated in the Graduation Ceremony 2021. For most male graduates, your next lap will be the National Service. For the female graduates, yours may be to the workforce or the pursuit of further studies. Whatever route you may take, I would like to leave you some food for thought to sustain you through uncertain times or stressful moments. • Armed with a Plan – In Sports Psychology, we talked about goal-setting plans. What it means is that you have a clear plan of how you intend to reach your goal. Specific and clear goals with a realistic timeline will lead you to greater output and better performance, which in turn will give you a sense of pride and triumph. Thereafter, it propels you forward to seek out your next immediate goal. The small steps of success that you achieve along the way will surely go a long way in building your self-esteem and self-confidence, especially when dealing with setbacks along the way. • Armed with the Ability to View Life in Perspective – I recall listening to 93.8FM deejay Eugene Loh’s frequently articulated statement: “If you change your perspective, you will change in life.” Upon reflection, I realised the deep wisdom that comes with this phrase. Too often, we are too caught up with our daily lives, only to lose sight of what is really important to us. This is especially true at your age where you perceive the world to be your oyster and you are busy accumulating material gains – an indication to your peers that you have “arrived”. It would be all too easy if everything goes smoothly in life. However, life was never meant to be a bed of roses. Above all things, it is through trials and tribulations that you will perceive the fragility of life, which in turn warms your heart to cherish life and all it has to offer. • Armed with an Attitude of Gratitude – When life gets hectic and you begin to feel overwhelmed, take a moment to focus on the people and things that you are grateful for in life. When you are grateful, one of the impacts on yourself is a positive emotional state, which in turn energises your overall emotional well-being and helps maintains a positive outlook. Inevitably, the people around you will be influenced by your little acts of gratitude and change for the better. In your three years with the School of Sports, Health and Leisure (SHL), we have worked hard together and have shared much joy and laughter. Together with your lecturers, we have prepared you to the best of our ability and equipped you with relevant skillsets for your workplace.

MS GOY SOON LAN

Director School of Sports, Health and Leisure

We have confidence that each one of you will become good ambassadors for RP as well as SHL. On behalf of SHL, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and look forward to your contribution as our alumni henceforth.

SHL OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

I enrolled into the Diploma in Sports Management (DSPM) through the Republic Polytechnic Singapore Sports School Programme (RP-SSP DSPM). Coming from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, I had doubts about my choice of enrolling into RP. However, after my three years in RP, I realised this was the best decision I have made. The school has allowed me to juggle my sports and studies efficiently. Being a member of the Bowling Interest Group (IG), I was able to represent RP in several competitions. In 2019 POL-ITE games, I achieved first place in both the Men’s Quartet and Men’s Overall Team. The use of RP’s Problem-based Learning (PBL) approach made lessons interesting and effective. This approach challenged me to think out of the box and be creative with my solutions. The use of presentation in daily classes trained and built my confidence in public speaking. Through RP’s support in the form of scholarships and awards, I did not have to worry about my finances, and that allowed me to devote my time fully to studies and sports. RP has truly made a huge, positive impact on my life!

After three years of study life in RP, our polytechnic learning journey has come to an end. I’m glad that I made the right choice three years ago. RP is an excellent option for those who want to tap into their potential and align their interests to their career path. RP provides me with many opportunities for self-development and self-realisation via various workshops, Interest Groups and SOT programmes. These activities have greatly enriched my polytechnic life and the experiences will benefit me throughout my life. On the other hand, RP’s Problem-based Learning (PBL) method also trained me to think beyond the textbooks and lectures and deal with real-life problems. PBL also highlights the importance of teamwork and I am now confident of my ability to work effectively in teams. Some of us may choose to continue studying, while some may want to start their career journey. Whatever the path we may take, I am sure our experience in RP has equipped us to successfully achieve our goals. As the slogan says “Think you know us? We’re so much more!”

To SMC Graduating Class of 2021: My heartiest congratulations to you as you cross another milestone in your life. Your graduation is a special and memorable one. The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly transformed the education sector as well as the workplace and I am proud of each and every one of you as you have overcome these challenges and triumphed over them. This graduation may be the end of your journey with us, but it is the beginning of a brand-new exciting journey for you. I hope every one of you will begin this new journey with a burning PASSION in two important areas. The first area is having a passion for learning. Learning is lifelong and can take place through your work or the trainings you attend. When you are passionate about learning in your job or in developing your skill, you will be able to overcome any challenges that come your way. Continue to persevere and keep upgrading yourself in new skills in emerging domains to remain relevant. And you don’t have to look very far to do this – just check out the lifelong learning courses offered by RP and SMC and come on board with us. The second area is having a passion for the community. RP and SMC have planted the seed of compassion in you through many service-learning experiences. My hope is that this seed grows within you and you will continue to contribute back to the community and help the less fortunate. Last but not least, stay in touch with us! Share your successes and experiences with us. You are the role models that your juniors will look up to. I look forward to hearing all your exciting stories as you embark on this new journey. SMC OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

My heartiest congratulations to the graduating class of 2021! In a blink of an eye, we are graduating. Can you believe it? Three years ago, we entered RP not knowing what the future may hold. Now, we have survived all RJs, nervewrecking presentations and staying up late to complete our projects. Throughout the three years, RP has constantly pushed me out of my comfort zone to develop myself through competitions and exciting industry projects. Eventually, this experience gave me the confidence to establish my own start-up: Suskin. Along with my co-founder Kai Lin, we managed to clinch first place in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition. The pride and joy that I felt that day as I celebrated the success with my fellow lecturers, my family and my friends, was immeasurable. There had been many obstacles that we all had to overcome throughout the three years, but we kept my friends and I kept one another motivated throughout the course. RP is where I met my friends-for-life and for that, I am thankful. As we go on to the next chapter of our lives, I would like to quote my mentor, Ms Amanda Cheok – “Looking back, if you know you did your best, that is enough. Life is not a race, but always a learning experience.” Let us all celebrate this moment and graduate with pride!

SMC OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

This journey in pursuing the Diploma in Social Enterprise Management in Republic Polytechnic (RP) has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life. With plentiful opportunities to lead and serve others through various programmes and unique PBL teaching model, I experienced rapid growth in areas such as my leadership capabilities, and acquired an arsenal of skillsets! Some programmes I have benefitted from in RP include the National Youth Achievement Award (Gold) programme, Student Overseas Trips and the Poly Forum 2019. Furthermore, I was also granted the privilege of representing RP to be part of the student committee in organising the #YouthEmpowered event in both 2019 and 2020. The event provided me with the platform to exercise my public speaking and pitching skillsets and eventually led to us acquiring funding from IMDA to execute the event! I was also one of the few student ambassadors selected to travel to one of Hong Kong’s highly esteemed universities – The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) – and there I gained entrepreneurial insights from credible professionals and entrepreneurs. As I graduate, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to my family, lecturers and friends, who trusted and believed in me.

SOH HIGHLIGHTS

Hi Graduating Class of 2021, Congratulations on attaining your Diploma! By now, we all are fully aware that we are living in unprecedented times, and we have had to make many adjustments to adapt to new norms. We all have hopes that we will someday return to our pre-COVID days. However, the reality is that this day may never come. Apart from technological advancements and changes impacting us, COVID-19 has challenged us to think about hospitality and tourism differently – the rapid employment of AI technology to serve our needs, the greater focus on customer as well as online experiences, the need to future proof ourselves are just some examples that we are increasingly familiar with recently. There are three words that I want to leave you with: The first, Adaptability. More so now than ever, we have to be adaptable to situations and circumstances. You may now need to take a different approach to reaching your goals, be it in your future studies, jobs or even relating to others. The second word, Resilience. Do not give up easily, stay on course and do your best. When the going gets tough, the tough get going, and they eventually thrive. The third word and last, Gratitude. Appreciate what you have now – your family, friends, the way you live, the way your future unfolds. Be present and stay focused on your passion. Thank people and situations constantly and be kind to others.

MR JAMES LEE

And so, Class of 2021, with gratitude that you have journeyed with us at SOH, I wish you all the best!

SOH OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

I found myself changed for the better after three years in Republic Polytechnic. As an introvert, I was hesitant to speak up in front of many. With daily presentations as part of RP’s lessons, I gained the confidence to address crowds. I was the Vice-President of Deafining Interest Group (IG) in 2019. We held sign language performances and worked with external companies to engage with the hearing-challenged community. Through the IG, I better appreciated the importance of facial cues and body language for the hearing-challenged individuals to express themselves. These experiences have honed my observation skills when communicating with others. I enrolled myself in the Diploma Plus in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship to widen my knowledge and explore the possibility of starting my own restaurant in the future. I was also given the opportunity to represent my diploma at the ACG Youth Forum – #Youth-nified: Guarding Against Radicalism in the Digital Era event in 2019. My RP journey couldn’t be what it was without my friends. I appreciate my peers, who brought me joy and supported me throughout my journey. I am also thankful to my mentor, Mr Isaac Ong, as he was willing to guide me and listen to my problems and worries. The different experiences I’ve gained, through attending classes and leading my IG, has made me a more well-rounded and adaptable person. The last three years in RP has not only been a journey through education, but it has also been a journey of growing up and finding myself.

DIPLOMA IN RESTAURANT & CULINARY OPERATIONS

SOH OUTSTANDING GRADUATES Throughout my studies at Republic Polytechnic, I was able to discover many different sides of myself that I did not even know existed. As the overall-in-charge for Service Learning Initiative, I was provided with the opportunity to work with my core committee to host and execute two events for the clients of Blue Cross Thong Kheng ASD Day Activity Centre. Through organising these events, I was able to discover and hone my leadership and management capabilities, and I also received a Republic Award and Champion of Made a Difference (M.A.D). On the academic front, I managed to achieve a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and 23 distinctions out of 24 modules, over five academic semesters. The Problembased Learning (PBL) pedagogy equipped me with the ability to understand complex concepts and to solve real-world problems. Solving complex problems all day long with my classmates have also elevated my communications, adaptability and presentation skills. Republic Polytechnic has given me the opportunity to participate in numerous events, such as the Temasek Foundation International 2018, Poly Forum 2019 and National Economics and Financial Literacy Challenge. Participating in these events expanded my horizon and allowed me to interact with people from other schools and even other countries. I would like to also take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards my family, friends, lecturers and those who have helped me during this wonderful journey. Aside from my family, I would like to shout out to the wonderful and passionate lecturers of DCXB who helped me along the way. Special thanks go to Ms Mandy Low for inspiring me to be the best version of myself through her kindness. Lastly, I want to share a quote that she told me which I remembered till this day: “Love all, trust few and hurt no one.” Thank you RP and DCXB.

SOI HIGHLIGHTS

Dear Graduating Class of 2021, On behalf of the school, I convey our heartiest congratulations to you for reaching this key milestone in your life. Your journey to achieving this major milestone in your life is like a test with the final question posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Your steadfast efforts to stay on course and adaptability to changes were commendable. I am proud that all of you have passed this test with flying colours! You have learnt many lessons in RP. In addition to coding and IT knowledge, you have learnt how to be adaptable, recover from setbacks and take the lead and support one another – in class, at the SOI Club and during student activities. We are proud of your achievements, in academic, in competitions and other student activities. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a new normal to our lives. It has accelerated the pace of change towards digitalisation and technology, and transformed businesses, jobs and the way we live. With the essential ICT knowledge and skills that you have gained, you are poised to play an important role in this new digital economy, be it keeping the digital world safe and running, creating useful apps or supporting businesses in their digitalisation journey. Step out into the next phase of your life and take on exciting new opportunities. With a curiosity to learn and a passion to serve, I believe you can make a difference in this world.

SOI OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

Kudos to you for persevering in your core course of study! I have lived my life in RP to the fullest and I hope the same applies to you as well. Thanks to RP, I have met lots of wonderful people whom I truly appreciate. I have also managed to find my direction in life and know what I want for my future. RP has also provided me the opportunities and environment to excel and prepare for realisation of my dream. I have had countless defining moments in RP that made a huge impact on my life. Moments like becoming peer support leader, completing daily lesson deliverables and attending various SOI events have not just enriched my life in RP, but also enhanced the REPUBLIC Code of Honour in me. Overall, RP has shaped me into a better person. Graduation is not an end but a new start. All the memories and experience we gained in RP together with our friends is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I hope you will cherish them and may the force be with you in achieving your dreams. Cheers!

SOI OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

A little over 1,000 days have passed since I first stepped into Republic Polytechnic, yet I remember all the fond memories I have acquired throughout my entire RP journey as if they happened just yesterday. From daily presentations to having lessons online with my friends and lecturers due to the pandemic, all of these memories form part of a unique and pleasant experience that will fondly stay with me for a long time to come. I am grateful that RP has helped me grow as a person. The lecturers always encouraged and motivated me to deliver my best in all the tasks that I do. Some of them even went the extra mile to help me for my participation in the WorldSkills Singapore, a national competition where the best in each IHLs in Singapore compete in their PC and Networking skills. I actually managed to win the Medallion of Excellence! As we close this chapter in our life, I wish all graduates the very best in their journey wherever they go and remember that we are always ONE RP!

STA OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

Thank you to my lecturers, who have nominated me as an Outstanding Graduate. RP has provided the stepping stones for my future career and taught me both soft and hard skills that helped me grow as a person. My passion and interests allowed me to be a recipient of the Director’s Roll of Honour for four consecutive semesters, as well as of the Lee Foundation scholarship in 2019 and the RP scholarship in 2020. My involvement in my IG, Republic Rhapsody, also played a huge role in my three-year journey. I was able to perform in several high-profile events, such as the ASEAN Worldskills on 14 July 2019, Reflections Opening Launch on 1 November 2019, Flame Awards on 15 November 2019, and Voices at Esplanade on 8 December 2019. In addition, I was part of the team that represented the CCA in winning Gold in the A Cappella Championships on 6 July 2019. As my RP life comes to an end, I feel blessed to not only have my FYP team selected for Symbiosis 2021, but to also be invited to host the event, representing my school and fellow peers in showcasing their own achievements.

STA OUTSTANDING GRADUATES

I have been very active in the local arts scene - even before I started my studies at Republic Polytechnic. I believe that it is important to start building my resume and network as early as I can. I always try my best to strike a balance between production work and school. I was also very fortunate to clinch the Director’s Roll of Honour in 2019 and Certificate of Academic Achievement in 2020. I believe the knowledge and skills I have acquired in RP are applicable to different job scopes. As a freelance Production and Technical Manager, I aspire to work on events on national platforms. I have been very fortunate to be able to be a part of the production team for the Singapore Night Festival and Singapore Art Week from 2018 to 2022. I hope to further contribute to the Singapore arts scene and to share my experiences with the younger generations.

RP ALUMNI FAMILY TREE

RP ALUMNI COMMITTEE (RPAC)

OFFICE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT

RP ALUMNI FAMILY TREE

To honour and celebrate the contributions of our alumni, RP has constructed the Alumni Family Tree. It is located at the Mound, next to the driveway at Republic Polytechnic Centre (RPC). The Mound’s peak represents our alumni’s aspirations to reach for greater heights. At its prominent position at the polytechnic’s entrance, it is visible from all levels within RPC, thus serving as a reminder for students to achieve their best. The Alumni Family Tree was officially launched by the RP Board of Governors on 4 May 2015. It symbolises RP’s growing alumni Family – firmly rooted in the values of RP, resplendently branching outwards to new challenges and aspirations. Every leaf represents a cohort of graduates embodying the moral values and strong affiliations forged during their time of learning, friendship and life in RP. From the Class of 2006 to the Class of 2021, RP is proud.

Ask yourself: after I graduate from RP, what would I like to achieve in my life? Do I achieve good grades in university or do I aspire to shine in my career? R – Resilience. This year has been a very challenging year for all of you. Do not lose hope and look for opportunities that cross your path. E – Enjoy. Enjoy every bit of the moments and treasure all the friendship that you have here. Always make time to keep in touch with your friends.
