July 5, Outdoor Recreation, H15 Having a dog doesn’t mean missing out on a good hike! Outdoor Recreation found 6 dog-friendly hiking trails that dogs and dog owners are sure to love. In fact, dogs can be great companions for hiking as long as they are in good physical shape and owners take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe hike. Price: $12/person
KAYAKING IN LITTLE SWITZERLAND
July 8, Outdoor Recreation, H15 Kayak on the inviting streams of Upper Franconia while exploring the beautiful nature in an idyllic setting with Outdoor Recreation. After some basic skill instruction, kayak down a 12-kilometer stretch of river on class two rapids and enjoy a perfect setting for an introduction to this exciting watersport. Price: $69/person

July 15, Outdoor Recreation, H15 The atmosphere of a wine fest is hard to describe and should be experienced by everyone at least once. The Würzburg Franconian wine country is the perfect place to experience it. The Hofgarten Wine fest, located in the Baroque setting of the Residence’s Palace Court Garden, is an idyllic location for a beautifully orchestrated wine fest experience over the long summer evenings. CONQUER THE ZUGSPITZE: STOPELSTEIG*
July 22-23, Outdoor Recreation, H15 (Register by July 14) Conquer the Zugspitze through the most direct route to the famous summit cross: the Stopelsteig! Not for the faint of heart, this route starts in Erhwald, Austria as a steep hike through the Schneekar to the Weiner-Neustadt Hutte, before travelling near vertically to the Wetterstein ridge by the steel cable-secured klettersteig. A high level of fitness, experience hiking in mountainous environments and no fear of heights is recommended for all participants. Expert guide and all necessary safety equipment included. Our staff work very hard to make sure that Children are well cared for and have every opportunity to grow and develop. The ‘All Star’ program is set up to show staff how much we appreciate them and recognize their tireless efforts of caring for our Children and Youth. Please help us by writing ‘star notes’ for excellence that you see. Each facility has a special location for the ‘All Star’ cards to be posted. At the end of each month, the cards will be collected and an award will be given for the caregiver who has the most ‘Star Cards’.

In addition to learning some German language, you will explore local communities (including a bakery and butcher shop), discover a huge home decorating store and spend the final day site seeing in Regensburg. LET IT GO! Third Tuesday of the month, 10-11 a.m., B10A Feeling pressured? Too many changes in your life coming at you too fast? Learn about the different kinds of stress and how problematic stress can affect your mental and physical health. Identify warning signs and the sources of your stress then learn how to better manage stress by, among other things, learning to let go.
SIMMER DOWN Second Tuesday of the month, 10-11:30 a.m., B10A Anger is a natural emotional reaction, but if not managed well, it can cause many problems from health issues to relationship issues. Is your anger hurting you? Understand that there are at least ten styles of expressing anger. Learn yours and how you deal with conflict. Learning more effective ways of dealing with conflict may help you live a happier and more peaceful life.

Redefined for ages 6 weeks to 4 years, this program offers flexibility and opportunity to meet new people who are raising young children in our community.

Every other Tuesday starting May 2 Paddling with Outdoor Recreation on the Steinburger See is a great way to spend the warm Bavarian evenings! Choose between canoes, kayaks or paddle boards while exploring the lake’s tiny islands, the clean and wide swimming beaches or the water-side restaurant. Thursdays, Outdoor Recreation, H15 The Hohenfels Outdoor Recreation Mountain Bike Club rides the fantastic single track trails on post to help each other gain the skills, practice and friends to participate in the Race Series Circuit. Rides are designed to accommodate a range of abilities, but will be physically demanding. Price: free to ride, half-off bike rentals
