In fact, dogs can be great companions for hiking as long as they are in good physical shape and owners take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe hike. Price: $12/person

KAYAKING IN LITTLE SWITZERLAND

After some basic skill instruction, take white-water boats down a 12-kilometer stretch of river, whose rapids never exceed class two in difficulty and are the perfect setting for an introduction into this exciting watersport. May 13, Outdoor Recreation, H15 Enjoy the spring air while tasting a few of Germany’s most delicious beers! The Funf Seidla Steig (Five Beer Hike) is an approximately 10-kilometer brewery hike located in the Little Swiss region of Upper Franconia, which travels through beautiful surroundings while visiting traditional Frankish beer breweries. Accordingly, participants can purchase a stamp card at the first location that allows them to purchase a commemorative Funf Seidla Steig beer krug at a reduced rate at the end of the hike. May 17-21, Hohenfels Festplatz Break out the Lederhosen and Dirndl and get ready to party as Hohenfels kicks off its 46th Annual German-American Volksfest! The event is intended to strengthen ties between the Hohenfels Military Community and the surrounding towns by bringing people together for fun and festivities.Besides beer, brats, burgers and bands, the fest features carnival rides and games for all ages, and each day offers some special excitement.
USAG BAVARIA HOHENFELS GOLF TOURNAMENT

CYS “ALL STAR” PROGRAM
Our staff work very hard to make sure that Children are well cared for and have every opportunity to grow and develop. The ‘All Star’ program is set up to show staff how much we appreciate them and recognize their tireless efforts of caring for our Children and Youth. Please help us by writing ‘star notes’ for excellence that you see. Each facility has a special location for the ‘All Star’ cards to be posted. At the end of each month, the cards will be collected and an award will be given for the caregiver who has the most ‘Star Cards’.

SURVIVAL GERMAN 101 May 2-5, 5:15-7:15 p.m., B10A An introduction to German will make it easier for you to order food in restaurants, shop, travel, ask for directions and understand German doctors. You will simply feel more comfortable living in Germany. This could be the best use of 8 hours of your life ever. IMPORTANT NOTE: These are sequential classes that build on each other. Course consists of four two hour classes.

This is the place to be if you’re new to the community. In addition to learning some German language, you will explore local communities (including a bakery and butcher shop), discover Mobelhof, a huge home decorating store and spend the final day site seeing in Regensburg. Find out how your new community works without doing everything yourself and make some new friends at the same time. EVENINGS AT THE LAKE Every other Tuesday starting May 2 Paddling with Outdoor Recreation on the Steinburger See is a great way to spend the warm Bavarian evenings!
