The ”Bata system” organizes operations in autonomous workshops with employee profit sharing. “Each one in the company is an entrepreneur”. The Bata school of work is established. It provides rigorous education and practical training to future Bata managers. The T.&A. Bata Shoe Company is registered in the town of Zlin, Czechoslovakia. Innovative from the beginning it departs from century old traditions of the one-man cobblers’ workshop.

At the time of Tomas Bata’s tragic death in a plane crash, the company intensifies diversification into the production of tires, aircrafts, bicycles, machineries. Still a young man, Thomas J. Bata, his son, convenes the 1st international congress of young Bata people.

Retail parks stores Retail parks stores are the largest and the most value-oriented stores of our retail chain. They are ideally located in power centers, commercial parks and outlet centers with easy parking facilities. The product selection offers more than 10,000 styles of ladies, men, children and sport shoes with related accessories and apparel sold at attractive price points. The first Athletes World store has been opened in 1997 in Bologna originated by a closed cooperation with Nike. From its opening the store achieved immediately a good success. From the initial store concept developed in Bologna, totally link to the sport/athletic products, the new concept subsequently developed consist of an evolution from a pure sport/athletic product offer to a sport lifestyle concept much more oriented to a the fashion concept and product offer The stores have a very attractive visual merchandising discipline and they offer


a range of products of 70% footwear, 25% apparel and 5% accessories. Each season the international sport brands after proper market and fashion trend analysis develop exclusively for Athletes World specific collections. The in-store service is extremely professional and matching the target customers: young people aging from 15 to 30 years old sport/urban/fashion lifestyle. Today in Italy Athletes World chain count of 66 shops of which 54 are own. Bata Polska Bata w Polsce jest obecna ponownie od roku 1992. W tym roku powstała spółka Bata Poland, która zarządza siecią własnych sklepów. Sklepy zlokalizowane są generalnie w centrach handlowych i na najlepszych ulicach handlowych największych polskich miast. Obecnie w Polsce działa 41 sklepów Baty (37 Large Format Store, 2 City Store, 2 Outlet). Bata oferuje w swoich sklepach szeroki wybór obuwia damskiego, męskiego i dziecięcego, galanterii skórzanej (torebki,kurtki, portfele, paski i inne), akcesoriów do konserwacji obuwia jak również szereg innych dodatków. Klienci odwiedzając sklepy Baty zawsze mogą w nich znaleźć aktualne trendy mody, dobrą jakość, przystępne ceny i profesjonalną obsługę. Bata Poland Bata Poland has been operating a chain of retail stores since 1992 after a hiatus lasting several decades. Generally, the stores are located in shopping centres or on the best commercial streets in the largest Polish cities. Presently 41 Bata stores (37 Large Format Store , 2 City Stores, 2 Outlet) are operating in Poland. Bata offers a wide variety of lady‘s, men‘s and children‘s footwear, bags, leather jackets, wallets, belts and other accessories to a number of unique customers. Exclusive collection, the hottest fashion trends, high-quality product, excellent prices and professional service can be expected with each visit. The attractiveness and functionality of each Bata store is also very important. Since 2003 Bata Poland has been a part of Bata Central Europe (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia). Thanks to the cooperation in this region, dynamic evolution occurred in founding a new chain of stores in Poland. Twenty eight of our stores were opened in the last three years. The total area of stores increased to over 14 000 sqm and several stores were renovated. In 2007 sales increased by over 750 thousand pairs (+30% to the year 2006). Bata Poland is anticipating further dynamic development to their chain of stores. The aim is to open new Bata stores (250 – 450 sqm) in the best shopping centres in cities with excess around 100 thousand inhabitants. Bata is also interested in opening stores (200 – 250 sqm) in the best downtown location of major cities.

Baťa Česká republika a Slovensko Firma, která se rozrostla v Baťovu světovou organizaci, byla založena ve Zlíně 24. srpna 1894. Počátkem 30. let se Baťovy továrny staly světovým leaderem v exportu obuvi. Po sametové revoluci v roce 1992 začíná Baťa v Česku opět podnikat. První slovenská prodejna je otevřena v roce 1996. Zlín se stává opět centrálou pro střední Evropu, tedy Česko, Slovensko a Polsko a zaměstnává přes 1000 lidí. Prodejny jsou rozmístěny po celé České a Slovenské republice a jejich počet dosahuje téměř 130. Baťa je leaderem na trhu v prodeji s obuví, 91 českých a 22 slovenských prodejen přináší prodej 2 200 000 párů obuvi ročně. Baťa má silnou pozici na trhu v segmentu módní, elegantní a volnočasové obuvi a nabízí dobrou kvalitu za přiměřenou cenu. Firma se zaměřuje na rodiny, zákazníky hledající styl. Prodejní sortiment zahrnuje dámskou pánskou, dětskou a sportovní kategorii. Důraz je kladen také na prodej tašek, doplňků a oblečení. Baťa podporuje nákupní trend, 30 % našich obchodů je umístěno v nákupních centrech, retail parcích a ostatní v centrech měst. Prodejní koncept zahrnuje městské prodejny, super story a prodejny Athletes World se sportovním zbožím. Průměrná velikost obchodu je 400 – 500 m2. Vytváříme jedinečné prostředí k nakupování ruku v ruce se současným designem a přátelským prostředím. Pohodlí, móda, velký výběr a také možnost nákupu značek, to jsou klíčové elementy, které upoutají zakazníka k Baťovi. Bata Czech Republic & Slovakia The Bata family established the Bata Shoe Organization on August 24th, 1894 in Zlin, Czechoslovakia. By the early 1930s, the Bata’s enterprises in Czechoslovakia were the world‘s leading footwear exporters. In 1992 after the Velvet revolution Bata Czech retail began operating again. The first Slovak store was opened in 1996. Today the head-office for Bata Central Europe (Czech, Poland, Slovakia) is still located in Zlin. The stores are spread all over the Czech Republic and Slovakia their entire Bata network contains nearly 130 stores. Bata also became a leader in this shoes market. 91 Czech stores and 22 Slovak stores bring sales to 2 200 00 pairs of shoes per year. Bata Czech and Slovak have a strong market orientation for fashion, elegant and casual footwear offering good quality at a reasonable price. Bata Czech is focused mainly on families and customers looking for style. There is a strong focus on assortment in the women’s, men’s, children’s and sports categories. Supplements such as accessories, bags and clothing are also available. Bata follows trends and so 30 % of their stores are located in shopping malls or retail parks. The others can be found in the major city centres and downtown locations. Sales concepts include; City stores, Large Format stores and Athletes World stores with a wide sport assortment. For further expansion Bata Czech and Slovak are looking for locations in the city centres of the smaller cities with a surface area of 350 sqm.
