Woodworking

While I have always enjoyed the act of building and making things with my hands, working with wood has become a more personal, meditative act of creative focus. In each of these projects, I have carefully selected hardwood offcuts and scraps otherwise destined for the chipper. The design and craft of each piece aims to celebrate and amplify the imperfect character and beauty of the natural materials, while experimenting with simple details and clean lines to create practical and beautiful items for everyday use in the home. While the guitar hanger and pendant lamp were created to satisfy immediate needs in my own home, the focus on cutting boards, serving platters, and spice mills is a response to my interests in local food production and as a foodie and amateur chef.
